Solistul trupei Boney M este un mare fan al gimnasticii româneştiBobby Farrell, cucerit de Simona Amânar
Celebrul dansator şi cântăreţ Bobby Farrell (68 de ani), component al cunoscutei trupei Boney M, este cel mai mare fan al gimnastei Simona Amânar. Cel puţin aşa susţine artistul născut în Aruba şi devenit rapid unul dintre cei mai vânaţi bărbaţi în anii ’70-’80.
Prezent la Campionatul Mondial de Fotbal al Artiştilor, Bobby Farrell a dezvăluit faptul că e pasionat de gimnastică, sport pe care-l îndrăgeşte mai mult decât pe cel cu balonul rotund. În plus, dansatorul trupei Boney M a povestit că e un mare fan al gimnasticii din România, fiind fascinat de Simona Amânar. "O iubesc pe Simona Amânar! Este, în opinia mea, cea mai talentată gimnastă", a declarat artistul de culoare. Acesta a ţinut să-şi demonstreze cunoştinţele în materie şi a mai precizat: "Îmi place mult şi de Stela Nistor (n.r. Steliana Nistor). Am urmărit-o în ultimul timp şi e foarte talentată". Nici gimnaştii nu l-au lăsat indiferent pe Bobby Farrell, dansatorul recunoscând faptul că îl admiră foarte mult pe Marian Drăgulescu.
Artistul făcea playback la concerteFarrell a plecat din ţara sa natală în 1964, pe când avea doar 15 ani. A locuit o perioadă în Norvegia şi în Olanda, apoi s-a mutat în Germania. Acolo s-a angajat ca DJ, iar producătorul Frank Farian l-a văzut într-un club şi l-a "racolat" în trupa Boney M. A devenit rapid sex-simbolul grupului şi unul dintre cei mai iubiţi artişti, deşi s-a dovedit că el nu "punea vocea" pe piesele trupei, ci managerul Farian.
Simona s-a retras în urmă cu şapte ani
Simona Amânar s-a retras din gimnastică după Jocurile Olimpice din 2000, de la Sydney. Între timp, şi-a terminat studiile în Timişoara, s-a căsătorit cu Cosmin, fiul fostului preşedinte al PUNR, Valeriu Tabără, şi are un băieţel în vârstă de cinci ani. În prezent, Simona predă educaţie fizică la "Universitatea de Vest" şi la Universitatea Tibiscus, ambele din Timişoara. Fosta campioană se poate lăuda cu faptul că numele ei se regăseşte, alături de cel al Nadiei Comăneci, în galeria celor mai valoroşi gimnaşti ai planetei, "Hall of Fame".

Dana Sofronie nu are de gand sa revina in gimnastica, insa merge zilnic la sala. Nu se antreneaza, ci instruieste sase fetite pentru a le transforma in mari gimnaste.
'N-am nici un model de antrenor pe care sa-l urmez, ci imi doresc sa descopar si eu inca o Catalina Ponor sau o Simona Amanar', ne-a precizat Dana, mandra ca din cele sase fetite patru au talent si ar putea-o depasi ca performanta. Fosta campioana nu le percepe nici un ban viitoarelor gimnaste si spune ca o face din placere si din dorinta de a sta in continuare in sala de antrenamente.Este studenta la Facultatea de SportDesi si-a dorit sa intre la Academia de Politie, pana la urma Dana s-a vazut studenta a Facultatii de Educatie Fizica si Sport. 'Am vrut sa dau la politie si chiar m-am prezentat la examen, dar mi s-a spus ca trebuia sa-mi depun dosarul cu trei luni inainte', ne-a povestit Dana, care nu exclude ca la anul sa mai incerce sa intre la inca o facultate.

Ecaterina Szabo. Un nume care nu mai are nevoie de nici o prezentare in lumea gimnasticii mondiale. Campioana olimpica, mondiala si europeana, Kati Szabo are in palmares absolut toate medaliile importante la care poate ravni o gimnasta de mare performanta. Insa total nedrept, de-a lungul timpului, a fost aruncata in plasa anonimatului, despre ea amintindu-se prea putin in peisajul sportului romanesc.
Chiar daca e stabilita in Franta din 1992, alaturi de sotul ei, Cristian, si de cei doi baieti, Lorenzo (10 ani) si Zeno (4 ani), Kati (39 de ani) vine in fiecare vara in tara, pentru a-si petrece concediile. Acasa, la Zagon, in judetul Covasna, fosta mare gimnasta spune ca traieste cele mai frumoase clipe. 'Nu ma simt bine daca nu vin macar o data pe an in Romania. Ma intalnesc cu prietenii, cu cei dragi. Imi aduc de fiecare data aminte de clipele adolescentei, de putinele momente pe care le-am petrecut acasa. In majoritatea timpului eram plecata in cantonament. La Zagon veneam destul de rar', spune Kati Szabo.
Bella Karolyi: "Azi nu v-ati luat portia de bataie"In fata reflectoarelor, a camerelor de luat vederi sau a flash-urilor aparatelor de fotografiat ale jurnalistilor occidentali, zambetele micutelor gimnaste antrenate de Bella Karolyi pareau sa ascunda ceva. Era secretul unui regim extrem de dur, dus pana la limita suportabilitatii. In sala de la Deva, comportamentul antrenorului care a format-o pe Nadia Comaneci era de-a dreptul draconic. 'Numai cand il vedeam ca intra in sala izbucneam in plans. Stiam ce ne asteapta. Se uita la noi si ne spunea: "Azi nu v-ati luat portia de bataie". Si ne-o dadea. Ecaterina Szabo ar vrea si azi sa stie de ce i s-au facut atatea nedreptati. 'Cand eram sportiva, imi spuneau ca sunt bozgoroaica. Mi-au schimbat numele si varsta. As vrea sa stiu si eu acum de ce a trebuit sa suport toate astea', se intreaba fosta mare gimnasta.
A antrenat-o pe Maria Olaru
Dupa ce a renuntat la gimnastica, Ecaterina Szabo a urmat calea antrenoratului. La Deva a avut-o ca eleva pe fosta campioana olimpica, europeana si mondiala Maria Olaru. In timp, cele doua au devenit foarte bune prietene. 'Mariuta e pentru mine ca si fata mea. Cand se va casatori, eu si sotul meu vrem sa-i fim nasi', explica Szabo.
Vieru zice ca nu stie nimicFostul sef al FRG, Nicolae Vieru, este persoana cu cele mai vechi state in forul de specialitate. Despre acele momente cand lui Katalin Szabo i-au fost schimbate varsta si identitatea, Vieru spune ca nu stie absolut nimic. 'E pentru prima data cand aflu ca pe Kati o chema de fapt Katalin. Revedere dupa 30 de ani
Nadia Comaneci s-a reintalnit in Statele Unite cu Emilia Eberle, la nunta fiicei fostului lor coregraf de la lotul national de gimnastica, Geza Pozsar.
In urma cu doar cateva zile, Nadia Comaneci, impreuna cu sotul ei, Bart Conner, dar si cu fiul lor, Dylan Paul, au fost invitati la nunta Karinei Pozsar, fiica fostului coregraf al lotului olimpic de la Deva, Geza Pozsar.La acest eveniment deosebit, care a avut loc in Los Angeles, Nadia a avut placuta surpriza de a o reintalni pe fosta ei colega de lot si totodata buna prietena, Emilia Eberle. 'Pentru mine, surpriza a fost cu atat mai mare cu cat nu am mai vazut-o pe Emilia de aproape 30 de ani. Am fost nespus de bucuroasa ca am avut posibilitatea sa stam de vorba dupa atata vreme. Ne-am dat seama cat de repede au trecut acesti ani. Emilia are si ea un baietel de opt ani', a povestit Nadia pentru Libertatea. De ani buni, Nadia Comaneci este imaginea mondiala a firmei Adidas. Fiul celei mai valoroase gimnaste a tuturor timpurilor este incaltat la randul sau cu pantofi sport fabricati de aceeasi firma. Reprezentantii companiei isi doresc sa realizeze o sedinta foto in care alaturi de Nadia sa apara si micutul Dylan Paul. Pana la punerea in practica a acestui proiect, 'Zeita de la Montreal' s-a declarat foarte incantata ca fiul ei a facut deja primii pasi.

Nadia si Bart Connor au cantat in Herastrau
La o zi dupa petrecerea de taiere a motului fiului ei, Nadia Comaneci a venit impreuna cu intreaga familie - mama, micutul Paul Dylan si Bart Connor ? la Insula Copiilor din Parcul Herastrau, unde s-a lansat "Cutiuta muzicala 6". Fostele gimnaste Catalina Ponor si Andreea Raducanu au fost alaturi de Nadia, care a urcat pe scena pentru a interpreta o melodie de pe noul album. Peste 1.500 de copii, parinti si bunici au sarbatorit Ziua Copilului pe 2 iunie si au descoperit cantecele pe care Liliana Stefan, creatoarea "Cutiutelor", le-a aranjat pe cel mai nou album. De la petrecerea organizata de Mediapro Music nu au lipsit Raluca Moianu si Ioana Moldovan, doua dintre mamicile celebre de pe "Cutiuta". Vedetele si copiii acestora nu au intarziat sa apara, iar cele trei mamici au fost aplaudate de catre toti participantii la spectacolul de pe Insula Copiilor, care au venit sa le vada cantand pe scena. Printre cei prezenti s-au numarat Kamara de la Alb Negru si fetita lui, Cabral si Inoke, Iurie Darie si Anca Pandrea.

Dylan, fiul Nadiei Comaneci, si-a cunoscut bunicul
Nadia Comaneci, impreuna cu sotul ei, Bart Conner, micutul Dylan si mama Nadiei au ajuns, luni seara, la Onesti. Cel mai nerabdator sa o vada pe Nadia, dar mai ales pe Dylan, a fost "tata Gheorghe" (n.r. - tatal Nadiei). "I-am cumparat o minge de fotbal, din piele, pentru ca am vazut ca a fost primul lucru de care s-a atins la taierea motului", ne-a dezvaluit bunicul lui Dylan. "Tata Gheorghe" a pregatit pentru oaspeti si o delicioasa ciorba de perisoare, friptura, sarmale si alte surprize culinare. Regina gimnasticii mondiale a impartit autografe si s-a fotografiat cu toti cei care au venit sa o vada.

Chiar la intrarea in Onesti, o localitate care candva purta denumirea fostului conducator comunist Gheorghiu Dej, imaginea Nadiei Comaneci troneaza ca un simbol peste oras. De pe un panou urias, zambetul inconfundabil al celei care in 1976 revolutiona gimnastica mondiala prin performantele ei te duce imediat cu gandul la acele momente unice, cand '10'-le obtinut de ea la Montreal se imprima ca o marca de scrisoare in sufletele intregii omeniri.
Baietelul Nadiei, adus pentru prima data la Onesti
Lasam in spate panoul si urmam drumul drept, destul de ingust, care taie orasul spre inima urbei si care se opreste la singurul hotel de trei stele din Onesti, Trotus. Aici este practic 'buricul targului', cum obisnuiesc sa spuna localnicii. Nadia Comaneci impreuna cu sotul ei, Bart Conner, cu fiul lor, Dylan Paul, care tocmai a implinit un anisor, dar si cu Stefania Comaneci, mama campioanei, sunt asteptati sa fie pentru o zi oaspetii acestui hotel. Modesti, fara aere de vedete, Nadia si Bart coboara din BMW-ul pus la dispozitie de Automobile Bavaria. Vorbesc in soapta. 'Doarme Dylan', ne anunta Nadia, care se grabeste spre receptie pentru a completa formularele pentru cazare. Luat in brate de Bart, Dylan se trezeste si ne arunca un zambet strengaresc. 'Bine ai venit la Onesti, Dylan! Uite hotelul Trotus!', sunt cuvintele lui Bart pronuntate intr-o limba romana pigmentata cu un puternic accent american.
BMW-ul de culoare neagra se opreste la capatul unei alei. Fotoreporterii locali, si nu numai, surprind momentul in care Nadia, Bart si Dylan Paul coboara din masina. Marea campioana fura o privire catre curtea scolii. Aceeasi curte in care ea juca fotbal la varsta de 12 ani sau se plimba cu bicicleta alaturi de fosta ei colega de echipa, Teodora Ungureanu. 'Ce au mai trecut anii!', pare sa spuna privirea celei mai bune sportive a lumii, care a revenit de asta-data la casa din Onesti pentru prima oara alaturi de fiul ei, Dylan Paul. Gheorghe Comaneci, tatal Nadiei, isi mascheaza cu greu emotiile acestei intalniri. Isi ia in brate nepotelul, pe care-l mangaie cu grija pe parul balai. Cel mic zambeste incontinuu.
Bunicul l-a asteptat cu perisoare si cu o minge de fotbalGheorghe Comaneci ii aduce celui mic o minge de fotbal. 'Am vazut ca-i place fotbalul. Si de asta am zis sa-i cumpar o minge. I-am pregatit de mancare ciorba de perisoare. Am aflat de la Nadia ca-i place foarte mult', a explicat Gheorghe Comaneci.
S-a jucat cu papusile Nadiei
De cum a ajuns in apartamentul copilariei mamei sale, Dylan devine un pic mai curios. Este un loc nou, pe care vrea cu tot dinadinsul sa-l descopere imediat. Intra in sufragerie de mana cu Nadia. Apoi cu Bart. Se simte deja ca acasa. ?n camera in care a copilarit cea mai valoroasa gimnasta a tuturor timpurilor, lucrurile sunt neatinse. Papusa imbracata intr-o rochita rosie, preferata Nadiei, sta cuminte pe canapea. Dylan o necajeste un pic, incercand sa o traga de nas. Papusa ramane neclintita. Dylan incearca din nou.

Nadia's father waits for Nadia, Bart and Dylan in Onesti with Romanian food and drinks.
He haven't seen Dylan until now and Bart since 1994 , when he came to Romania for the 1st time.
He isn't sure when exactly Nadia will go to Onesti as she has to visit Tescani for "Marturisiri" album release promoting the county , but Nadia is supposed to spend a night in the flat where she spent her childhood.

Nadia , Bart and their son Dylan Paul , together with boy's Godfather Paul Ziert, prayed at St.Spiridon church
"It was normal to come here to thank God that He gave me this superb little boy. Shortly after I came here with Bart and we prayed to the St.Spiridon wonders-maker icon I found out that I am pregnant. It was the greatest happiness of my life." said the great champion who is involved together with Father Iordache in building a clinic that will be named after her and that is dedicated to the needful children.
Father Iordache officiated a religious service for Nadia , Bart , Dylan Paul (who is going ot be 1 yo tomorrow) and Stefania Comaneci , the champion's mother who was there in such a moment. Dylan Paul has been very good during the service , paying attention to everything happening around him. Little Dylan has been brought in The Holy Altar receiving the communion fm Father Iordache. At the end of the service Father Iordache sanctified a white gold precious stones cross for Nadia.
Gift fm the Athos mountain
Father Iordache came on Nadia's son hair ritual cutting that took place last night starting at 19:00 hrs at "Doi Cocosi" restaurant.
He prepapred a special gift for little Dylan. "Is a gold & silver icon sanctified on mountain Athos. I will ask Mrs. Nadia to put the icon that shows St.Mary holding Baby Jesus in the little one's room so Lord's Mother to lead his steps in life." said Father Iordache.

Even if little Dylan's birthday is on 3rd ofJune , Nadia decided to celebrate him 3 days earlier , right on The International Children's Day. Among the famous guests : Ilie Nastase, Gica Hagi , Ion Tiriac , Octavian Bellu and Mariana Bitang.

As per Libertatea of today , Nadia , Bart and Dylan arrived yesterday in Romania.As far as he arrived in the airport , Dylan gave a roguish smile to the journalists , finding new toys ; their microphones.
Nadia said smiling :"It seems that he is interested in journalism as a career."
"Maybe he will even become a TV compere" , added Bart.

'Dupa cate se pare, cred ca il atrage profesia de jurnalist', a spus Nadia zambind. 'Poate devine chiar prezentator de televiziune', a completat Bart Conner. 'Zeita' si sotul ei au explicat ca, in sala de gimnastica, micul Dylan se simte in elementul lui. 'Isi da capul pe spate cand ii spun salt', a povestit Nadia, care a mai spus ca Dylan Paul are deja propriul pasaport.

As per Libertatea of today , Nadia and Dylan had a photo session right home in Norman,Oklahoma for "The One" magazine .
Little Dylan who can say "mama" and "daddy" at not even 1 yo , speechifies in a language that only he can understand and his parents offer him gifts all the time. Nevertheless, Nadia planned to buy him "the children's Mercedes" on her first visit in LA , the last children fixture trend , most exactly a go-cart purchased by many USA celebrities.
The secret of the beauty
The secret of Nadia's enviable look is simple ; she goes early to bed because she wokes up early, she goes to a Spa at least once a month , to have a massage , she eats fish a lot , salads and fruits and there's not a day to go by without chocolate.
In the interview for "The One" magazine Nadia talks about the Romanian gymnastics' present state in which she believes , even if she didn't think to be a coach here :" First of all time and patience are needed because it takes some time to create a new team with new coaches. I don't plan to coach in Romania because I have a lot to do in USA. Besides, I don't think that Romania misses the coaches , so I don't think that I am needed here."

Nadia Comaneci and Bart Conner invited their Romanian friends to attend the ritual hair cut of their son , Dylan Paul. The event will take place at restaurant in a select setting.

This is the first part of Nadia Comaneci and Bart Conner's son ritual hair cut invitation's text.
The event will take place on 01st of June at <2> restaurant , starting with 19:00 hrs.
The press may have access at the first part of the party , when the hair cut will actually take place , after that it will be a private party.
Among the famous guests there are : Ilie Nastase, Ion Tiriac, Gica Hagi, Gica Popescu, Mihaela Radulescu and Andreea Esca.
"It won' be a big party , but we try to set off the moment adequately."said Nadia for Libertatea.

Vineri, la restaurantul 'Doi Cocosi', va avea loc petrecerea organizata de Nadia Comaneci si Bart Conner prilejuita de taierea motului fiului lor, Dylan Paul.
Adrian, fratele celebrei sportive, ne-a precizat ca s-a convenit ca meniul care va fi servit sa fie unul romanesc: 'Vor fi foarte multi invitati din SUA. Am decis de comun acord cu Gigi Netoiu, care se ocupa de pregatirea acestui eveniment, ca meniul sa fie unul romanesc, pentru ca invitatii de peste Ocean sa aiba posibilitatea sa se delecteze cu mancarurile traditionale romanesti'.Referindu-se la darurile pe care i le va face celui mic, fratele Nadiei a mentionat ca i-a comandat lui Dylan Paul pernute personalizate, cu chipul lui, cel mai important cadou fiind acela ca i-a aranjat deja camera din Bucuresti, in care va locui incepand din luna septembrie. 'Apartamentul Nadiei si al lui Bart din blocul pe care l-am construit este aproape gata. Pana in toamna, cand ei vor veni la Bucuresti, totul va fi pus la punct in cele mai mici amanunte', a declarat Adrian.
Un program incarcatLa 1 iunie, fosta mare gimnasta a lumii va fi gazda unui spectacol organizat de Primaria sectorului 2 impreuna cu Dragonul Rosu Megashop. A doua zi, Nadia va canta in Herastrau alaturi de Olivia Steer, Raluca Moianu si Ioana Moldovan, la 'Cutiuta Muzicala 6'.

Adrian , the famous athlete's brother , told us that it was decided to have a Romanian menu :"Many guests will come from USA. We agreed with Gigi Netoiu , who is in charge preparing the party , to have a Romanian menu so the guests who will come from abroad to enjoy the traditional Romanian food."
Referring to the gifts that he will offer to the little one , Nadia's brother mentioned that he ordered 2 personalized pillows with Dylan Paul's picture on them , but the most important gift is the room where he will live starting with September and which is all arranged "Nadia and Bart's apartment , part of the block of flats that we built , is almost ready. Every single detail will be arranged until they'll come in Bucharest on autumn.' said Adrian.
Busy schedule
On 1st of June the former great world's athlete will host a show organized by The City Hall – 2nd district together with The Red Dragon Megashop. The next day Nadia will sing in Herastrau together with Olivia Steer , Raluca Moianu and Ioana Moldovan on "The Little Jukebox 6" show.

Nadia decided to have her son’s ritual hair cut in Bucharest . The little one will be 1 year old right on The Children’s Month and his parents offer him a great party in a traditional Romanian restaurant fm Bucharest .
We thought to make Dylan a surprise ; his first photo session for a glossy magazine.

Nadia , mommy , a year after Dylan’s birth. How is it ?
We enjoy every day that we spend with him because everything is still new to us. He already started to talk, he says “mamma” , “dada” and other things in his language.
What gift he will receive on his birthday ?
A visit to Romania. He will meet my father ‘cause he didn’t have the chance to meet him until now. Referring to the gifts, well he receives gifts all the time and now most probably we’ll take him fm LA the last model landau also called “the children’s Mercedes”, very trendy among the VIP’s kids in US.
Do u feel that the little one changed something on you ? But in Bart ?
The fact that everything that was once important to me now it became secondary. The child and his needs are on the first place. This doesn’t mean that we neglect ourselves.
The same for Bart ‘cause we both consider the baby’s needs first.
Who is in charge with the bath and who with the feeding bottle?
Usually , Bart prepares the bath water and I take care of all the rest.
What happens when u are away for different charity events? Is Bart managing everything all by himself?
If I happen to be away, he stays home with the little one and our 2 helpers. We have 2 ladies to help us ; Iuliana , we brought her from Romania and another one. But everything happens under our own eyes.
How is your life now?
I can say that I am back to the activities I used to have before Dylan’s birth , but everything has more sense since I am a mother. I have a bigger wish to make wonderful things. So the little one to be proud of me.
Do u regret that u decided to have a baby or do u regret that u didn’t decide to have him earlier ?
None of the above options. The baby came at the right moment, when I was ready physically and mentally. After u have him u realize that a child makes your life whole. But you have to have him when u really feel the need, not when others tells u to.
The little one took everything from his dad. What do u feel that he took from u ?
I was just looking thru some photographs with me when I was small and I realized that his little mouth is like mine. All the rest is from Bart , I agree. He inherited my personality. I hope !
You introduce him Romania on his birthday! Who is going to come at the great 1st of June party ?
We’ll have a party in a traditional Romanian place where abt 50 persons will be invited , among them the family , the real friends and some staff fm the Federation.
You are a mommy on shape. How do u keep up ?
I think that the fact that I am a happy fulfilled woman helped me very much. When you are happy inside this shows outside.
Did u ever smoked or drank alcohol ? What time do u go to bed and how u keep up to be so active ?
I tried to smoke 20 years ago because it was on vogue , but I didn’t like it. So I gave up. Usually I tend to go to bed early , after Dylan is asleep , because I wake up every early. My life style’s rhythm is organized and I try not to do more than necessary , not to be very tired. Is important for a woman to take care of herself. To go at least once a week to a SPA or to have a massage.
Are u still faithfull to Stri-Vectin ? Or did u discover something new? We want to know…
I discovered something that I love madly , is called “Diamond Extreme”. Is a cream made by Natura Bisse. I use it since almost 3 months and I am very content with its effects. You can find it in the luxury shops only. But the readers of The One know how to find it. I am sure of that.
Do u know any genius SPA that u can’t miss , at least once in a lifetime ?
I am going to a SPA in LA , is called “Le Visage”. Is the place where I feel like a queen.
Let’s talk a little bit about gymnastics. Recently Catalina Ponor and Monica Rosu decided to be coached again by Mariana Bitang. What do u think abt that ?
The girls still have energy left , they have potential and they wanna show it.You know how is in life , if u feel that u can and u have the chance to show it , is better to do it. So I think that is a smart decision.
What do u think that can be done to have the glory back in the Romanian gymnastics?
First of all time and patience are needed because is hard to create a new team with new coaches.
You never thought to coach in Romania ?
No , I didn’t because I have many things to do in America. Besides, I don’t think that Romania misses the coaches , so there is no need for me here.
Maybe u like the life in America better .
You have to know that I do not coach here either.The Gymnastics Academy is our property , we have other business gymnastics related , for example we make (my note – meaning “our business is about”) leotards and sneakers , but we do not coach.
And this happens just because we are on the road all the time.

Simona Amanar a fost admisa in Hall of Fame
Vineri seara, in cadrul unei ceremonii deosebite, patronate de Bart Conner, sotul Nadiei Comaneci, Simona Amanar, una dintre cele mai valoroase gimnaste ale Romaniei, a fost admisa in Hall of Fame.
Extrem de emotionata, Simona, care se afla in Statele Unite ale Americii impreuna cu sotul ei, Cosmin, a fost alaturi de marile nume ale gimnasticii mondiale. Cu o zi inainte de derularea acestui eveniment, ea a vizitat biroul Nadiei din Oklahoma, dar si muzeul Hall of Fame. Simona nu a ratat ocazia de a se fotografia cu una din tortele olimpice primite cadou de catre Nadia. Ieri, invitatii lui Bart, ai Nadiei si ai managerului Paul Ziert au plecat spre Las Vegas, unde vor petrece doua zile, dupa care Simona si Cosmin se vor indrepta spre Florida, unde o vor vizita pe fosta gimnasta Lavinia Agache, stabilita de ani in aceasta zona.

In the center of Bucharest ,next to the former Musical Theatre , St. Spiridon Vechi Church is the cult bower with a special history. During communism, Ceausescu ordered the church to be demolished and to place instead a taxi station. In 1993 it was decided that the church to be reconstructed and it was finished in 3 yrs , patriarch Teoctist attended the sanctification event.
The church’s dean, Father Iordache had the idea of building a social-medical endowment right in the church’s yard “I thought then that we can have a strong support fm Nadia Comaneci, the world’s most valuable athlete. Thru her brother, Adrian , I explained the project we had in mind. She was with us immediately.” Said Father Iordache checking his watch from time to time. Nadia and Adrian were to come to see the construction development , but also to offer an important donation from ADIDAS.
Until the goddess fm Montreal arrived , Father Iordache told us about the endowment’s subdivisions.
“The social part will offer 3 meals per day to 100 children. There’ll be 4 study halls , 5 shower rooms for girls and boys. The medical facility that will be named

The project’s whole value is 1,000,000 eur. “With God’s help we hope that everything will be ready in September” added Father Iordache.

The World’s Most Famous Arena - acestea sunt cuvintele pe care le întâlnesti la tot pasul în Manhattan în perimetrul delimitat de Seventh Avenue si 31st and 33rd Streets.
Nu exista niciun dubiu ca, într-adevar, Madison Square Garden este cea mai cunoscuta si mai spectaculoasa incinta sportiva. Dar MSG nu este doar o sala, ci un mic orasel, având un mall, sali de teatru si de cinema, o statie de metrou, precum si o statie de tren.
La intrarea în impunatoarea cladire se afla sapte stâlpi de sustinere, fiecare dintre ei având un tapet cu câte un sportiv celebru. Sub deviza "Cei mai buni au fost în cea mai buna arena" au fost selectati sportivi emblematici. Nu puteau lipsi Cassius Clay, alias Muhammad Ali, si Michael Jordan, adica vedete care au schimbat perceptia omenirii asupra sportului. La loc de cinste, în mijlocul acestei panoplii de semizei troneaza posterul celui mai cunoscut român în lume: Nadia Comaneci. Iar explicatia asezata alaturi de cea mai mare gimnasta din istorie este, pe cât de simpla, pe atât de cuprinzatoare: "The first perfect ten". Numele Nadiei este legat de Madison Square Garden dupa ce, la 28 martie 1976, sportiva din Onesti a reusit pentru prima oara în cariera si în istoria gimnasticii sa blocheze tabela de afisaj, obtinând nota maxima. Chiar daca ulterior Nadia a mai repetat isprava de câteva ori, primul 10 este ceva aparte.
Este adânc întiparit si în mintea celor care au fost martorii evolutiei româncei. "Nu credeam ca este posibil asa ceva. Si am vazut mai mult sport la viata mea decât oricine. Daca mi-ar fi spus cineva ca se va da 10 în gimnastica, îi trânteam doua palme. Dar ce a facut micuta românca aici, în ‘76, chiar sub ochii mei, pe atunci un tânar de 26 de ani, e greu de explicat", spune Tim, un batrân adus usor de spate, dar înca mândru ca lucreaza de mai bine de 50 de ani ca organizator de evenimente sportive la MSG. ¢

'Am plecat si din cauza federatiei'
Martha si Bella Karolyi. Doua nume de legenda ale gimnasticii romanesti, care la vremea anilor '70 scriau istoria moderna a gimnasticii mondiale in calitate de antrenori ai celei mai valoroase sportive a lumii, Nadia Comaneci.
Au plecat din Romania la inceputul anilor '80, alegand democratia americana. S-au afirmat peste Ocean prin performantele lor. Au reusit totodata sa le impuna americanilor un anume stil de pregatire, dovedindu-le ca sistemul aplicat de ei in Romania a dat roade. Dupa mai bine de 20 de ani de cand s-au aflat in concurenta directa cu lotul olimpic al Romaniei coordonat de alte doua nume de elita ale gimnasticii mondiale, Belu si Bitang, sotii Martha si Bella Karolyi vor reveni in Romania la 26 martie, de asta-data invitati oficial de Fundatia Casa Campionilor, condusa de Mariana Bitang.
Va primi trofeul "Campioni de legenda"
Cei doi vor primi trofeul “Campioni de legenda”, acordat marilor personalitati ale sportului romanesc. Va fi un eveniment la care va asista si Nadia Comaneci.Aflat la resedinta sa de la Houston, Bella Karolyi a povestit pentru Libertatea care era relatia dintre el si Octavian Belu atunci cand se intalneau in sala de concurs ca “adversari”, dar si de ce nu mai vrea sa auda niciodata de afaceri in Romania. “Pentru mine si pentru Martha acest trofeu reprezinta o mare surpriza. Dupa Revolutie, iar inainte de plecarea din tara nici atat, nu am primit vreun premiu sau vreo distinctie de la cineva. Faptul ca acest trofeu ne va fi oferit de Mariana si Tavi inseamna foarte mult pentru noi”, a spus Bella, care a dezvaluit faptul ca dupa plecarea lor din Romania gimnastica din tara a excelat tocmai datorita prezentei la conducerea lotului a unui antrenor ca Octavian Belu.
"M-au scos pe usa din dos"
Cand vine vorba despre motivele pentru care cei trei mari antrenori romani Bella, Goreac si Belu au parasit gimnastica romaneasca, la celalalt capat al firului se asterne timp de secunde bune tacerea. Apoi, cu mai putin aplomb, Bella da si explicatia: “Raspunsul ar trebui sa-l cautati la federatia de gimnastica. S-a dorit ca noi sa plecam pe usa din spate. Federatia ar fi trebuit sa fie doar un organ administrativ si atat”.
A pierdut un milion de dolari
Cu ceva ani in urma, Bella Karolyi a fost convins sa investeasca intr-un post de televiziune, Pax TV, care se adresa iubitorilor cultelor religioase din Romania. Afacerea nu a mers. Bella are si o explicatie: “Am fi vrut sa fim mai puternic sustinuti de Biserica Ortodoxa Romana. Si acum sunt in litigiu cu o anumita persoana pe marginea acestui post de televiziune. Am hotarat sa nu mai fac nici o afacere in Romania”.Bella ne-a facut cunoscut un mic secret de-al sau. “Se intampla ca in multe concursuri importante echipa Romaniei sa urce pe prima treapta a podiumului. Nu i-am purtat niciodata pica lui Tavi. Nu am fost invidios. In sufletul meu era o bucurie ca ceea ce noi am lasat in tara ca sistem a fost continuat”.
Vrea sa mearga cu Belu la vanatoare
Una dintre marile pasiuni ale lui Bella Karolyi (64 ani) e vanatoarea. Cand vine in tara nu rateaza ocazia de a merge la o partida de vanatoare. “Mi-am propus sa-l imbolnavesc si pe Tavi de acest “microb” al pasiunii pentru vanatoare. Chiar zilele trecute am revenit de la o vanatoare de pasari, organizata in Texas. A fost nemaipomenit”, a precizat el. La vara, Bella si Martha si-au propus sa revina in tara pentru o scurta vacanta. Dar nu singuri. De asta-data vor veni insotiti si de cele doua nepotele, Iulia si Cristina. “Cel mai important lucru e sa avem sanatate”, a spus marele antrenor.Si-i doreste pe Tavi si Mariana din nou in salaIn opinia sa, plecarea lui Octavian Belu si a Marianei Bitang din sistemul gimnasticii a lasat un imens gol care se simte la nivel international. “Mi-as dori ca Tavi sa revina in sala. Ii simt lipsa de la marile concursuri. Poate ca intr-un viitor nu prea indepartat va lua decizia de a antrena din nou”. Pentru Bella Karolyi, ideea ca Belu si Bitang sa lucreze impreuna cu el si cu Martha ar fi asemenea unei minuni. “Cred ca nu mi-as putea dori mai mult. Este un vis care nu stiu daca se va realiza vreodata”, a adaugat Karolyi.

Ponor are interzis in Bucuresti
Doctorii de la Institutul de Medicina Sportiva din Bucuresti i-au recomandat gimnastei Catalina Ponor sa nu participe la festivitatile care vor avea loc astazi, cu incepere de la orele 11.00, la Izvorani, unde vor fi premiati cei mai buni sportivi ai Romaniei in anul 2006.
Catalina, care in urma cu mai bine de o saptamana a fost diagnosticata cu scarlatina, va ramane la Constanta, doctorii fiind de parere ca tripla campioana olimpica de la Atena, din 2004, ar fi bine sa nu intre in contact cu sportivii de performanta din celelalte loturi, pentru inca o luna de-acum inainte. Contactat telefonic de Libertatea, antrenorul Matei Stanei a declarat: „Mi se pare o decizie corecta tinand cont de faptul ca ea ar putea fi inca purtatoare de virus. Am acceptat ca ea sa ramana la Constanta, pentru ca, daca prin absurd vreun sportiv de performanta s-ar imbolnavi de scarlatina, nu vreau sa se spuna ca ar fi luat virusul de la Catalina. Nu are rost sa riscam aiurea! In aceste conditii, la festivitatile de maine (n.r - azi) eu voi fi cel care o va reprezenta pe Catalina”, a explicat Stanei. La randul ei, Catalina Ponor, care se simte acum mult mai bine, este nerabdatoare sa-si reia antrenamentele. „Nu m-am decis daca voi participa sau nu la Europenele de la Amsterdam. Imi voi continua insa foarte serios pregatirea pentru Mondialele din toamna”, a declarat ea.

Cătălina Ponor va fi prezentă mîine la festivitatea de premiere de la Izvorani . Timp de o săptămînă, Cătălina Ponor a trebuit să stea în casă, după ce medicii au diagnosticat-o cu scarlatină. Ieri, tripla campioană olimpică a ieşit pentru prima oară în oraş. "Mă simt mult mai bine, nu mai am probleme. Am terminat tratamentul cu penicilină, dar mai trebuie să fac cîteva zile de moldamin. Oricum, cel puţin încă o săptămînă nu am voie să fac efort", a mărturisit ea. Împreună cu antrenorul Matei Stănei, Ponor va participa mîine, de la ora 11:00, la Complexul Sydney 2000 de la Izvorani, la festivitatea de premiere a laureaţilor sportului românesc în anul 2006. "Vom merge la Izvorani, apoi ne vom opri cîteva zile în Bucureşti, unde ne vom întîlni cu Anca Grigoraş, care ne va transmite ultimele noutăţi în materie de punctaj venite de la federaţia internaţională. Vom putea definitiva astfel exerciţiile şi poate intrăm şi puţin în sală", a spus Stănei. "Antrenamentele le vom relua în mod progresiv abia cînd vom reveni la Constanţa şi în cel mult două săptămîni voi decide dacă ne putem prezenta la Campionatele Europene. Dacă raspunsul va fi pozitiv, vom participa doar la bîrnă. De altfel, nu întrecerile continentale erau obiectivul pentru acest an, dar Cătălina progresase mult şi ar fi fost importantă o medalie pentru moralul ei, mai ales că venea după o pauză lungă", a adăugat antrenorul. "Nu m-am gîndit la Europene în aceste zile, ci doar la sănătatea mea", a completat gimnasta.

Nadia Comaneci’s son flew with 32 planes
Little Dylan Paul had his first commercial in USA
He isn’t 1 year old yet and Paul Dylan is already famous.
And not only because he was born in a famous family – Nadia and Bart Conner.
Until now Paul Dylan had the chance to travel with 32 planes. “I wasn’t afraid to have him in the plane. I would say that he feels great when he is in the plane.” said Nadia. Paul Dylan’s longest flight will be this summer when Nadia and Bart will bring him for the first time in Romania. “We decided to come with him in Romania when he will be a year old to respect that 'cut the bob'tradition.” said Nadia.
The goddess’ son isn’t 1 year old yet
Few days ago little Dylan made his first commercial for the fight against muscular dystrophy campaign where his parents are involved. “Is about a photo session , the pictures taken will be used in this campaign.” added Nadia who , after will meet Madonna in Paris on 22nd of March at an UNESCO event , will come to Romania for few days. “The Champions House Foundation will offertrophy to Marta and Bella Karoly. Fiul Nadiei Comaneci a zburat cu 32 de avioane
La nici un an, Paul Dylan este deja celebru. Si asta nu doar pentru ca s-a nascut intr-o familie de parinti celebri - Nadia si Bart Conner.
Paul Dylan a avut ocazia de a calatori pana in clipa de fata cu 32 de avioane. “Nu mi-a fost frica sa-l iau cu avionul. As putea spune ca se simte minunat atunci cand se afla in avion”, a declarat Nadia. Cel mai lung zbor Paul Dylan il va face in vara acestui an, cand Nadia si Bart il vor aduce pentru prima data in Romania. “Atunci cand va implini un an, am hotarat sa venim impreuna cu el in tara, pentru a respecta acel obicei al taierii motului”, a precizat Nadia. Baietelul "zeitei" nu a implinit nici un anZilele trecute, micutul Dylan a realizat si prima reclama pentru campania dusa impotriva distrofiei musculare, unde parintii lui sunt puternic implicati. “A fost vorba de o sedinta foto, pozele pe care le-am facut urmand a fi folosite in aceasta campanie”, a adaugat Nadia, care dupa ce se va intalni cu Madonna la Paris, pe data de 22 martie, la o actiune organizata de UNESCO, va reveni in Romania pentru cateva zile. “Fundatia Casa Campionilor va decerna in martie trofeul "Campioni de legenda" fostilor mei antrenori Martha si Bella Karolyi. Bella m-a rugat sa fiu si eu prezenta la acest eveniment. Evident, nu voi lipsi”, a mentionat cea mai valoroasa gimnasta din toate timpurile.

Teodora va invita la briosa cu miel
Chiar daca sunt mari nume de referinta in lumea sportului mondial, acasa, dincolo de arenele de sport, vedetele duc o viata cat se poate de normala.
Foarte multe nume de referinta ale sportului romanesc au o mare pasiune: gatitul. In bucatarie reusesc sa faca de cele mai multe ori o adevarata arta. Stabilita de ani buni in Statele Unite ale Americii, la New Jersey, fosta mare gimnasta Teodora Ungureanu-Cepoi este recunoscuta ca fiind o mare gospodina. Toti cei care au servit preparatele culinare gatite de Teodora au spus ca stie sa gateasca de minune. Pentru ca se apropie Sfanta Sarbatoare a Pastelui, Teodora ne-a trimis o reteta speciala: briosa cu miel.
Cine e TeodoraResiteanca Teodora Ungureanu (46 de ani) a cucerit medalia de bronz din concursul pe echipe la gimnastica la JO din 1976 si alte doua medalii in finalele pe aparate: bronz la barna si argint la paralele inegale. Are o fiica, Adriana.
Reteta Teodorei
- 1/2 cana lapte cald- 1/2 cana apa calda- o lingurita de drojdie uscata- 3 cani de faina- 3 galbenusuri de ou- 6 lingurite de unt la temperatura camerei- 1/4 cana de zahar, o lingurita de patrunjel tocat- o lingurita de marjoran tocat
Ingrediente pentru umplutura:- 1/4 cana de ulei de masline- o ceapa mica rosie- 10 asparagus tocat marunt- 6 frunze de spanac tanar tocat- un zuchini (dovlecel) tocat, o lingura de marjoran tocat, sare si piper (dupa gust)- 150 grame de piept de pui- 1/3 cana de lapte gros (concentrat)- un ou - se separa albusul de galbenus- 2 rack-uri de miel (8 cotlete de miel in fiecare rack), care se leaga in forma de coroana
Mod de preparare:Briosa: se amesteca intr-un castronel laptele si apa calda la care se adauga drojdia pana se dizolva. In alt castronel se amesteca faina, galbenusurile de ou, untul, zaharul, patrunjelul, marjoranul si sarea. Se toarna drojdia peste ingredientele amestecate si se amesteca apoi cu o lingura de lemn pana se formeaza coca. Aceasta se framanta aproximativ 10 minute pe un fund de lemn sau se poate folosi mixerul. Se pune intr-un castron si se lasa apoi la crescut. Umplutura: intr-o craticioara se incalzeste la foc mijlociu uleiul de masline, la care se adauga toate ingredientele pentru umplutura citata mai sus, cu exceptia pieptului de pui, laptelui gros si albusului de ou. Timp de 15 minute se amesteca din cand in cand dupa care se lasa sa se raceasca la temperatura camerei. In mixer se amesteca pieptul de pui, taiat marunt, cu albusul si laptele gros dupa care se toarna peste legumele prajite in prima craticioara. Rack-ul de miel: se pune la cuptor 30 de minute la temperatura mijlocie, dupa care se scoate si se adauga umplutura in mijlocul coroanei si se mai coace inca 30 de minute. Se scoate apoi si se lasa afara 20 de minute, timp in care se imparte coca in trei parti egale si se impleteste ca o codita. Se asaza impletitura in jurul rack-ului de miel si se baga la cuptor intre 30 si 45 de minute, dupa preferinta. Acest platou se poate folosi in orice ocazie, dar in special de Sfintele Sarbatori ale Pastelui.

Figure skating's czar and Evin Martin the violonist showed interest in a potential cooperation with the stars of the Romanian gymnastcs , Catalina Ponor and Marian Dragulescu , in a future show.
Ponor says :”It would be an unique experience to me to be in a show with both of them. Edvin Marton is my favourite. My floor exercise in on his music. About Plushenko I can say only that is a great artist on ice.”
Dragulescu says : "I will be honoured to be in the same show with Plushenko and Marton. I consider this idea as a challenge. Obviously , neither I nor Catalina will skate. We’ll do what we know to do best ; gymnastics.”

Plusenko si Marton vor sa colaboreze cu Ponor si Dragulescu
Tarul patinajului mondial, Evgheni Plusenko, si violonistul Edvin Marton s-au aratat foarte interesati de o posibila colaborare pentru un spectacol viitor cu vedetele gimnasticii romanesti, Catalina Ponor si Marian Dragulescu.
Cea care a adus in discutie aceasta varianta a fost Raluca Popescu, organizatoarea spectacolului “Kings on ice”, care a avut loc recent la Bucuresti. “Dupa incheierea spectacolului, la putin timp dupa ce ei au ajuns la hotel, l-am intrebat pe Evgheni daca ar fi interesat de o astfel de colaborare, tinand cont ca atat Catalina, cat si Marian sunt nume reprezentative ale gimnasticii mondiale. A fost foarte incantat de idee si mi-a transmis ca se gandeste ca pentru anul viitor sa-i includa in show-ul lor”, a precizat Raluca Popescu. In momentul in care Catalina va ajunge la Bucuresti, Raluca intentioneaza sa poarte primele discutii despre colaborarea cu Plusenko si Marton. Contactata telefonic, Ponor a declarat: “Pentru mine ar fi o experienta unica sa apar intr-un spectacol alaturi de cei doi. Edvin Marton este favoritul meu in materie de muzica. Solul pe care-l voi face este pe muzica lui. Despre Plusenko pot spune doar ca este un mare artist al ghetii”, a precizat Catalina Ponor. Dragulescu a spus: “Va fi o onoare pentru mine sa apar in acelasi spectacol alaturi de Plusenko si Marton. Consider aceasta idee ca pe o mare provocare. Evident ca nici eu, nici Catalina nu vom patina. Vom face insa ceea ce stim noi sa facem cel mai bine: gimnastica”.
Ar putea sa vina iar la Bucuresti.Cei doi mari artisti care au cucerit lumea ar putea reveni la Bucuresti anul viitor. “Eu am fost doar organizatoarea unui spectacol, care a atras la patinoarul “Flamaropol” oameni din toata tara. Cred insa ca ar fi indicat ca Bucurestiul sa aiba un patinoar nou, ultramodern. E greu sa organizezi un astfel de eveniment in conditiile in care spectatorii reclama o serie de lucruri care tin de lipsa lor de confort”, a explicat Raluca Popescu.

Catalina Ponor a intrat in carantina
Catalina Ponor, tripla campioana olimpica la Atena, a fost diagnosticata, in urma cu doua zile, cu scarlatina. Simptomele specifice acestei boli au inceput sa-si faca simtita prezenta la finalul saptamanii trecute.
“Am constatat ca am febra, iar pe corp mi-au aparut niste bubite. Imediat am mers la spital, unde, dupa analizele facute, medicii mi-au spus ca este vorba de scarlatina”, a explicat Catalina pentru Libertatea. Dupa anuntarea diagnosticului, antrenorul Matei Stanei a luat legatura cu directoarea DTSJ Constanta, Elena Francu. Aceasta a dispus ca timp de doua zile sala de gimnastica sa intre intr-un soi de carantina, ieri, reprezentantii Directiei Sanitare facand o dezinfectie. “Toate fetitele vor trece pe la cabinetul medical pentru a fi supuse unui consult”, a precizat Elena Francu.
S-a mutat intr-un loc izolat pentru a nu-si contamina cunoscutii
Catalina Ponor a refuzat pe proprie semnatura internarea in spital, ea intrand automat intr-un soi de carantina. „Din cate am aflat, in multe scoli din Constanta exista cazuri de copii care s-au imbolnavit de scarlatina”, a declarat Matei, care spera ca eleva lui va putea prinde, totusi, Europenele de la Amsterdam, programate la finalul lunii aprilie. “Ne vom reapuca de treaba pe data de 7 martie”, a mentionat el.Intrebata daca a luat decizia sa se mute intr-o casa care apartine antrenorului ei, ca urmare a unor posibile discutii pe care le-ar fi avut cu mama ei, Catalina a declarat: „Domnul Stanei mi-a oferit posibilitatea de a locui aici, pentru a fi tot timpul sub supravegherea dansului. Acum, pe perioada bolii, nu pot pleca acasa, deoarece aici locuiesc singura, iar daca as merge la ai mei, exista riscul contaminarii”, a zis Catalina. "A fost optiunea mea sa plec altundeva" “Zilnic vorbesc la telefon cu mama”, a precizat Catalina. La randul ei, Carmen Ponor, mama gimnastei, a precizat: “A fost optiunea ei de a se muta la domnul Stanei, pentru ca acolo beneficiaza de un spatiu mai mare. Matei Stanei are doua corpuri de casa si intr-unul dintre ele i-a permis Catalinei sa se mute. Se afla intr-un mediu care ii permite sa se antreneze mai bine”.
Incepe constructia caseiPrintre altele, Carmen Ponor, mama Catalinei, a tinut sa precizeze pentru Libertatea ca foarte curand vor incepe lucrarile de constructie pentru casa fiicei ei. “Am terminat cu toate aprobarile si speram ca pana in iarna sa fie incheiata si constructia. Este vorba de un teren de 970 de metri patrati in zona Kamsas, din Constanta, dintre care peste 350 vor fi locuibili. Catalina are aproape 20 de ani si simte nevoia sa locuiasca singura“, a spus mama sportivei.

Nadia and Madonna together in Paris
Nadia has been invited by UNESCO to be one of the stars of a humanitarian event that will take place in Paris on 22nd of March called "The Global Summit" with the main subject the fight against the cervical cancer. Besides Nadia , the famous singer Madonna and the queen of Morocco will attend the event. After the Gala in Paris , Nadia may come in Romania for few days.

EVENIMENT Nadia Comaneci (foto) a fost invitata de catre UNESCO sa fie una dintre vedetele unei actiuni cu caracter umanitar, ce va avea loc la Paris, pe 22 martie. "Summitul Global" va avea ca subiect lupta împotriva cancerului cervical, iar la eveniment vor mai participa, în afara Nadiei, celebra cântareata pop Madonna si regina Marocului. Dupa gala de la Paris, Nadia Comaneci ar putea reveni în tara pentru câteva zile.

GIMNASTICA Desi bolnava de scarlatina, Catalina Ponor nu exclude prezenta la competitia continentala de la Amsterdam.
In ciuda celor sase zile de pauza dictate de medici, Catalina Ponor (foto, alaturi de antrenorul Matei Stanei) nu dezarmeaza.
Tripla campioana olimpica se afla în carantina, acasa la Matei Stanei, si asteapta ca tratamentul cu penicilina si glucoza sa-si faca efectul. Ea a fost diagnosticata cu scarlatina, o “boala a copilariei” care a facut destule victime la Constanta. “Am închis o zi sala unde s-a pregatit Catalina, pentru a face dezinfectie. Copiii vor reveni însa de mâine la antrenamente”, spune Elena Frâncu, directorul DSJ Constanta.Pauza nu îi schimba Catalinei obiectivele. “Ne-a frânat un pic pregatirea, dar nu renuntam la ideea de a merge la Europene. Vom relua antrenamentele imediat, iar peste doua-trei saptamâni vom avea, probabil, o verificare. Decisiva va fi însa evolutia la bârna de la Internationalele din aprilie. Oricum, noi tintim mondialele si Olimpiada de la Beijing”, declara antrenorul Matei Stanei.
Debut jurnalistic
Dana Sofronie (foto) debuteaza astazi în paginile cotidianului ProSport din postura de corespondent la Constanta. In vârsta de 19 ani, Dana este campioana olimpica la gimnastica în 2004, cu echipa, ea obtinând la Atena si o medalie de argint la sol. De asemenea, Sofronie mai are în palmares si doua medalii la europene: aur cu echipa si argint la individual compus.

Catalina left home abt 2 months ago , she is now living in her coach's house . Catalina's mother adds that it was her daughter's decision , that they didn't have differences, but Mr. Stanei has a bigger house. The coach says that he doesn't know anout aby conflict between Catalina and her mom , but she has to have a strict schedule . Cătălina a plecat de acasă
Triplă campioană olimpică la Atena, în 2004, gimnasta Cătălina Ponor a plecat de acasă de aproximativ două luni. Carmen Ponor (foto medalion), mama gimnastei, a declarat pentru Mediafax că fiica sa locuieşte la antrenorul Matei Stănei.
Carmen Ponor a mai specificat că decizia plecării de acasă i-a aparţinut gimnastei, dar a precizat că nu a fost vorba de o ceartă între ea şi Cătălina. "Nu este vorba de o ceartă între mine şi Cătălina, noi ne-am înţeles întotdeauna foarte bine. A fost opţiunea ei de a se muta, pentru că acolo beneficiază de un spaţiu mai mare. Matei Stănei are două corpuri de casă şi într-unul dintre ele i-a permis Cătălinei să se mute. Probabil că se simte mai bine acolo şi e într-un
mediu care îi permite să se antreneze mai bine", a afirmat Carmen Ponor pentru Mediafax.
"Cătălina locuieşte în prezent la mine, urmează un tratament riguros şi sper ca până pe 7 martie să revină la pregătire. Nu cred că există vreun conflict între ea şi mama sa, Cătălina a ales să locuiască la mine", a declarat Matei Stănei.
În ceea ce priveşte cariera Cătălinei, aceasta a intrat în impas în momentul în care era decisă să revină în activitate. Ea s-a îmbolnăvit de scarlatină, şi a fost nevoită să întrerupă antrenamentele, pentru trei săptămâni.

Asa spune Andreea Raducan ca a fost în perioada cînd practica gimnastica. "Vorbesc mult si cam repede, nu?", zîmbeste Andreea. E alta persoana decît cea care, în urma cu sase ani si jumatate, traia extazul si agonia la Sydney. Fiinta fragila, care parcurgea drumul dintre vis si cosmar la diferenta de cîteva zile, a disparut. În locul ei e o tipa matura, sigura pe sine, cu pareri ferme, care stie foarte bine unde sta si ce planuri si-a propus sa duca la bun sfîrsit. Doar privirea e la fel: scormonitoare si directa. Si zîmbetul, unul din toata inima. La cei 23 de ani împliniti la sfîrsit de septembrie, Andreea Raducan înca se gîndeste la gimnastica, dar spune ca retragerea n-a fost un moment dureros, ci mai degraba firesc. Acum, viata ei înseamna altceva. - Ce loc ocupa acum gimnastica în viata ta, Andreea?- A fost ceva ce am facut cu mare drag, tot ceea ce sînt eu acum vine de acolo. A fost multa vreme prioritatea mea numarul unu, dar acum lucrurile nu mai stau asa si e firesc. Nu m-am rupt de gimnastica, dovada ca urmaresc competitiile, urmaresc ce se întîmpla la noi, cu schimbarea de generatie, sînt la curent cu noul cod de punctaj. Doar ca nu mai e pe primul loc.- Ce te-a învatat sportul?- În primul rînd, sa fiu disciplinata. Si asa am ramas, n-as putea trai haotic. Am o agenda în care îmi notez tot ce am de facut, ca sa nu uit nimic, îmi pregatesc de cu seara lucrurile cu care vreau sa ma îmbrac a doua zi. Sînt foarte ordonata. - Si ce ti-a luat?- Se spune ca noi, gimnastele, ne pierdem copilaria si, dintr-un punct de vedere, nu e gresit. Dar nu trebuie sa dramatizam. Daca nu am fi avut un regim strict, nu am fi facut performanta. Ar fi trecut anii si m-as fi întrebat: "Ok, am facut gimnastica, dar cu ce m-am ales?". Mi-ar fi parut rau. În plus, ai mei m-au sprijinit mereu, au fost alaturi de mine.Idol? Nadia!- Ai avut un idol în copilarie?- Mi-a placut foarte mult Nadia, desi nu am vazut-o concurînd. Stiam însa totul din povesti, mereu se reamintea de ea cînd era vreo competitie importanta, se aratau imagini. Asta ma stimula, ma îndemna s-o urmez. - Poate e un paradox, dar se spune despre gimnaste ca sînt mature dintr-un punct de vedere, pentru ca experimenteaza de mici concurenta, suferinta, un regim strict, dar cînd ies din sport nu sînt totusi pregatite sa înfrunte viata. E corect?- Da. Noi nu aveam ceea ce se cheama un trai normal. Ne bucuram cînd faceam antrenamente si concursuri bune, stiam doar de ale noastre. În rest, nu ne întîlneam cu alte persoane, nu citeam ziare, ieseam destul de putin. Nu prea stiam ce se întîmpla în tara, în lume. Cînd am renuntat la gimnastica am simtit aceste goluri. Dar ele se umplu treptat.- Momentul de vîrf al carierei?- Sydney, cu siguranta. Acolo am încercat cea mai mare multumire. Apoi Mondialele de la Gent, din anul urmator. Au avut un final fericit.- Dar momentul cel mai trist? Sau au coincis în mare masura?- Da. Sydney-ul se împarte pentru mine în doua, însa prefer sa vad partea plina a paharului. A fost o poveste care a început minunat, apoi a luat alta întorsatura. Sînt lucruri pe care am început sa le constientizez ulterior, sînt lucruri pe care nu le înteleg nici azi. Totul a însemnat însa o lectie de viata.Razbunarea de la Gent- Ai perceput Mondialele de la Gent, din 2001, ca pe o revansa?- A fost un concurs foarte frumos într-o atmosfera ciudata. Undeva, în sufletul meu, voiam sa demonstrez ca pot sa ma adun, sa trec peste momentul Sydney. Extraordinar a fost faptul ca nu eram deloc stresata. - A fost acolo un moment bizar. Horkina era în spatele tau si, la un moment dat, ti-a facut trei cruci pe spate. Crezi ca se temea de tine ca adversara? - Eu habar n-aveam de povestea asta, dar mi-a spus cineva. Nu stiu ce sa cred, daca îi era sau nu frica de mine. Noi poate mai trageam cu ochiul la antrenamente la adversare, însa în timpul concursurilor n-aveam timp de asa ceva. Ma gîndeam doar la exercitiul meu, la minutul meu si jumatate, voiam sa arat ca nu m-am chinuit degeaba. Nu ma concentram deloc pe adversare.Evadare din rutina- Ce îti amintesti în primul rînd din anii petrecuti la Deva?- Sînt multe. Asteptam cu nerabdare verificarile dinaintea concursurilor. Apoi, era o perioada foarte frumoasa la fiecare sfîrsit de an, cu multe competitii. Pe cît de urît era începutul de an, pe atît de interesant era finalul. Se întîmpla sa venim de undeva, sa dormim o noapte la "23 august", ni se trimiteau bagajele cu haine curate de la Deva, iar a doua zi plecam în alta parte. A, si petrecerile de la Deva. Erau evadarea noastra din rutina.- Ce fel de gimnasta crezi ca ai fost?- Pe mine nu m-a împins nimeni de la spate ca sa fac sport. Parintii mereu spuneau: "Daca nu e buna, dati-o acasa!". În acelasi timp însa, m-au învatat sa vorbesc clar, sa spun ce vreau pentru ca parerea mea conteaza. Am fost rebela, dar în limitele bunului simt.- Cum ai acceptat retragerea?- A fost o decizie care a venit logic. Nu mai simteam ca pot face lucrurile bine la concurs si cred ca nimeni nu m-ar fi iertat daca as fi înselat asteptarile. A intervenit pubertatea, începusem sa ma îngras... În plus, ma obisnuisem sa cîstig, îmi placea. Numai ca nu ma mai puteam prezenta la un nivel ridicat. Si nu regret ca n-am întins lucrurile doar asa, ca sa particip la doua Olimpiade. Nu mi-ar fi cazut bine sa fiu si eu, pe acolo.20 nu suna bine- Ce parere ai despre noul cod de punctaj?- Mi se pare foarte greu de explicat. Unii au crezut însa ca e mai bine asa, dar pentru public, pentru telespectatori e dificil de urmarit. - Cum îti suna nota 20?- Mult mai rau decît 10.- N-ai luat niciodata un 10, nu?- N-am luat pentru ca pe atunci era greu pîna îti alcatuiai un exercitiu care sa porneasca din nota maxima. Stiu ca la Olimpiada de la Sydney am luat 9,837, cel mai mult, dar în alte concursuri am primit si 9,850.Facultate si zile plineAndreea face acum si Facultatea de Jurnalism. E un domeniu care a atras-o, mai ales dupa ce a comentat competitia de gimnastica din timpul Jocurilor Olimpice de la Atena. Nu e pasionata însa de presa scrisa, cu toate ca "îmi placea sa fac compuneri la scoala". Zilele ei sînt întotdeauna pline. "Nu sînt persoana cea mai ocupata din lume, dar am ce face. Ma trezesc la 8, apoi merg la birou, la Fundatia Olimpica. Urmeaza poate un interviu, o sedinta, alte întîlniri. În timpul liber ascult muzica, merg la filme, ma întîlnesc cu fostele colege, ma pregatesc pentru examene", spune ea.Si-a dat toate jucariileÎn perioada în care s-a aflat la Deva, fosta gimnasta avea camera plina cu jucarii de plus, de toate dimensiunile si culorile. Acum nu le mai are. "Le-am dat copiilor. O parte la Bîrlad, orasul meu natal. Alta parte le-am dat unor copii de la un orfelinat. A fost chiar un spectacol la Manastirea Antim, am fost chemata si eu si m-am gîndit:Am luat jucariile.Am pastrat totusi vreo 2-3 care au o semnificatie speciala pentru mine."

31/12/06 03:00 h.Indiscutiblemente, Nadia Elena Comaneci ha sido la gran estrella de la gimnasia mundial. La deportista rumana reinventó este deporte con figuras y ejercicios anteriormente impensables. Con 14 años se convirtió en la primera gimnasta en lograr la máxima puntuación en un ejercicio en competición olímpica. Fue en los Juegos Olímpicos de Montreal 1976, en los que además ganó tres medallas de oro (general individual, barra de equilibrio y paralelas asimétricas), una de plata en la prueba general por equipos y otra de bronce en suelo. Su impacto fue tan grande que no sólo se convirtió en el rostro de aquellos Juegos, sino que hoy, 30 años después, sigue siendo considerada uno de los mayores mitos –si no el mayor, como opinan los lectores de MD– del deporte femenino.

El '10' que pasó a la historia como un '1.00'
Pese a que el 18 de julio de 1976 Nadia había realizado un ejercicio perfecto, el luminoso de Montreal no reflejó un '10.00' sino un '1.00' debido a un célebre fallo logístico. Meses antes de los JJ.OO. Daniel Baumat, el responsable de marcadores, había preguntado a los responsables de la Federación Internacional si cabía la posibilidad de que alguno de los gimnastas lograra un 'diez'; si así fuera, debía cambiar los dígitos para que la máxima puntuación pudiera quedar reflejada. Le dijeron que tranquilo, que “era imposible que ni en 100 años se diera esa nota”. Un Baumat taquicárdico y unos dirigentes con la cabeza gacha intentaron salvar la situación como pudieron. Curiosamente, tras Montreal esos marcadores se siguieron utilizando... pero sólo en aquellas competiciones en las que Nadia Comaneci no tomaba parte, por si acaso

There's a nice article abt Cristina Bontas in Libertatea today.
She tells how she left in Italy after the 1992 OG and then to Canada where she has been invited to a banquet organized by a gymnastics club, that she lives now in Hamilton where she owns her gym club - World Class Gymnastics - together with her husband, Gabriel.
The two of them met in Bacau at the Sport University and they have 2 kids : Elisa and Eric.
"They spend all the time with us in the gym. The girl practises gymnastics since she was 18 months old. I don't know if she will go on for the high level performance. She will decide."
The pictures fm the World - Indiannapolis in 1991 where she got a gold medal or those taken during the OG in 1992 are a proof for her perfromances. "When I see these images I feel like I want to go back to the gymnasium even now."
Cristina and Gabi are loved by the Romanian community fm Hamilton, but also by the Canadians.
Celestina Popa and Vanda Hadarean are her friends.
She keeps in touch with Gina Gogean only , but she would like to meet Lavinia Milosovici , her former mate.
"I felt sorry hearing that her little girl has health problems, I wanted to help her, but I didn't have her adress.”

Dupa Jocurile Olimpice de la Barcelona, din 1992, fosta medaliata cu argint Cristina Bontas-Tantaru a decis sa plece in Italia.
Invitatia pe care a primit-o ulterior din Canada, de a participa la un banchet organizat la un club de gimnastica, a tentat-o destul de mult. “Asa am ajuns peste Ocean. Mi-a placut mai mult in Canada. Clubul care m-a invitat mi-a facut contract de munca si asa ca am ramas ca antrenoare”, povesteste cea care detine acum, in Hamilton, unul din cele mai renumite cluburi de gimnastica.World Class Gymnastics e condus atat de Cristina, dar si de sotul ei, Gabriel. Cei peste 370 de copii canadieni beneficiaza de cele mai bune conditii de pregatire. “Cel mai greu a fost atunci cand a trebuit sa ne decidem sa nu mai lucram ca angajati si sa luam totul pe cont propriu”, spune Gabriel Tantaru. Cu toate ca ea era stabilita de ani buni in Canada, Cristina si Gabi s-au cunoscut in Romania, la IEFS-ul din Bacau. “Ne-am imprietenit si apoi ne-am dat seama ca nu putem sta unul fara celalalt”, isi aminteste Gabi.
Fiica ei e sportiva
Au doi copii: Elisa si Eric. “Tot timpul si-l petrec alaturi de noi, in sala. Fetita face gimnastica de la 18 luni. Nu stiu daca va merge spre marea performanta."Ea va decide", e de parere Cristina. Fotografiile facute la CM de la Indiannapolis in 1991, unde a reusit sa obtina medalia de aur, sau cele facute in timpul JO de la Barcelona din 1992, unde a cucerit argintul cu echipa, stau marturie vie a faptului ca performantele Cristinei in gimnastica nu vor fi trecute niciodata la capitolul... si altele. “Cand ma uit la aceste imagini am senzatia ca as vrea sa intru si acum in sala”, explica ea. In Canada, Cristina si Gabi sunt foarte iubiti de comunitatea romanilor din Hamilton, dar si de canadieni. Cristina e prietena cu Celestina Popa si cu Vanda Hadarean.
Vrea s-o vada pe Milosovici
Din tara tine legatura doar cu Gina Gogean. Si-ar dori sa o intalneasca pe fosta ei colega Lavinia Milosovici. “Mi-a parut tare rau cand am auzit ca fetita ei are probleme de sanatate. Am vrut si eu sa o ajut dar nu am avut nici o adresa de-a ei”.

Dana Sofronie, former Olympic champion at Athens in 2004, celebrated her 19th birthday yesterday
Being a way too steady teenager , Dana chose to organize her birthday in her parent’s house. Some friends, her brother and those who gave her life have been beside her, talking with a nostalgia about the former gymnast’s successes.
Every gift had its charm,but the most surprising one came from an ardent fan of the Romanian gymnastics. Magda Petrescu , accompanied by her daughter, Alexandra , offered fm NadiaVideoclips fanclub’s side a framed collage of Daniela Sofronie’s pictures. During the cantenments in Deva the whipped cream fight was a ritual. This time Dana got off untainted.
Being a student in the 12th class of the Sport High School, Sofronie planned to pass the examination with a high grade and then to apply to 2 Universities : The Sport University and The Police Academy. “Studies are now my priority , I am not thinking of anything else.” confessed the teenager who is also hired by the Constanta County Sport Authority.

Fiind o adolescenta mult prea cuminte, Dana a ales sa organizeze petrecerea in casa parinteasca. Cativa prieteni, fratele si cei ce i-au dat viata i-au fost alaturi, depanand cu nostalgie amintiri din succesele fostei gimnaste. Fiecare cadou a avut farmecul sau, dar cel mai surprinzator s-a dovedit a fi cel din partea unei sustinatoare infocate a gimnasticii romanesti. Magda Petrescu, insotita de fiica sa Alexandra, i-a oferit din partea fanilor clubului “Nadia Videoclips” un tablou cuprinzand un colaj de poze cu Dana Sofronie.
A lipsit bataia cu friscaPe vremea cantonamentului de la Deva, din ritualul gimnastelor nu lipsea bataia cu frisca. De aceasta data, Dana a “scapat” nemanjita. Eleva in clasa a XII-a la Liceul cu Program Sportiv, Sofronie si-a propus sa treaca examenul de bacalaureat cu note mari, apoi sa se inscrie la doua facultati: IEFS si Academia de Politie. “Cartea are acum prioritate, nu ma mai gandesc la nimic altceva”, a marturisit tanara, care este si angajata la DSJ Constanta.

Celebration for the former Olympic champion Daniela Sofronie
The former gymnast , Daniela Sofronie , Olympic champion with the team in Athens 2004 , is 19 yo today. She celebrated her birthday on Saturday at her parent’s house together with the relatives and few friends. Unlike the past years when the celebration found her always at Deva’s cantonment, the whipped cream fight – now a custom among the gymnasts - missed this time. Among other gifts , Daniela had a wonderful surprise fm a hardcore fan . Magda Petrescu accompanied by her daughter, Alexandra , offerd her a collage of photos with Daniela in different situations from “NadiaVideoclips” fanclub's side , of whose president is Mai Loon fm Malaysia. The board included a greeting :”NadiaVideoclips club wishes you a Happy Birthday”. The fan took a lot of pictures that are to be posted soon on the club’s site.

Daniela Sofronie a putut mînca fără grijă din tortul primit de ziua sa
Fosta gimnastă Daniela Sofronie, campioană olimpică împreună cu echipa României, la Atena în 2004, împlineşte astăzi 19 ani. Constănţeanca şi-a sărbătorit ziua de naştere sîmbătă, la casa părintească împreună cu rudele şi cîţiva prieteni. Faţă de anii trecuţi, cînd această sărbătoare a găsit-o mai mereu în cantonamentul de la Deva, a lipsit bătaia cu frişcă, devenită deja un obicei între gimnaste. Printre numeroasele cadouri, Daniela a avut parte de o frumoasă surpriză din partea unor admiratoare înfocate. Magda Petrescu, însoţită de fiica sa Alexandra, i-a oferit din partea fanilor clubului “Nadia Videoclips”, a cărui preşedintă este Mai Loon, din Malaesia, un tablou cuprinzând un colaj de poze, în care gimnasta Daniela Sofronie era surprinsă în diverse ipostaze. Tabloul era completat de o urare: “Nadia Videoclips Club îţi urează La Mulţi ani!”. Admiratoarea a realizat o mulţime de fotografii, urmînd ca în cel mai scurt timp să le posteze pe siteul clubului.
Elevă în clasa a XII-a la Liceul cu Program Sportiv “Nicolae Rotaru”, Daniela şi-a fixat obiectivele pentru următoarea perioadă, absolvirea examenului de bacalaureat cu note mari, apoi înscrierea la două facultăţi, IEFS şi Academia de Poliţie. ”Cartea are acum prioritate, nu mă mai gîndesc la nimic altceva”, a mărturisit fosta gimnastă, care lucrează în timpul liber la DSJ Constanţa.

The World’s Most Famous Arena - acestea sunt cuvintele pe care le întâlnesti la tot pasul în Manhattan în perimetrul delimitat de Seventh Avenue si 31st and 33rd Streets.
Nu exista niciun dubiu ca, într-adevar, Madison Square Garden este cea mai cunoscuta si mai spectaculoasa incinta sportiva. Dar MSG nu este doar o sala, ci un mic orasel, având un mall, sali de teatru si de cinema, o statie de metrou, precum si o statie de tren.
La intrarea în impunatoarea cladire se afla sapte stâlpi de sustinere, fiecare dintre ei având un tapet cu câte un sportiv celebru. Sub deviza "Cei mai buni au fost în cea mai buna arena" au fost selectati sportivi emblematici. Nu puteau lipsi Cassius Clay, alias Muhammad Ali, si Michael Jordan, adica vedete care au schimbat perceptia omenirii asupra sportului. La loc de cinste, în mijlocul acestei panoplii de semizei troneaza posterul celui mai cunoscut român în lume: Nadia Comaneci. Iar explicatia asezata alaturi de cea mai mare gimnasta din istorie este, pe cât de simpla, pe atât de cuprinzatoare: "The first perfect ten". Numele Nadiei este legat de Madison Square Garden dupa ce, la 28 martie 1976, sportiva din Onesti a reusit pentru prima oara în cariera si în istoria gimnasticii sa blocheze tabela de afisaj, obtinând nota maxima. Chiar daca ulterior Nadia a mai repetat isprava de câteva ori, primul 10 este ceva aparte.
Este adânc întiparit si în mintea celor care au fost martorii evolutiei româncei. "Nu credeam ca este posibil asa ceva. Si am vazut mai mult sport la viata mea decât oricine. Daca mi-ar fi spus cineva ca se va da 10 în gimnastica, îi trânteam doua palme. Dar ce a facut micuta românca aici, în ‘76, chiar sub ochii mei, pe atunci un tânar de 26 de ani, e greu de explicat", spune Tim, un batrân adus usor de spate, dar înca mândru ca lucreaza de mai bine de 50 de ani ca organizator de evenimente sportive la MSG. ¢

'Am plecat si din cauza federatiei'
Martha si Bella Karolyi. Doua nume de legenda ale gimnasticii romanesti, care la vremea anilor '70 scriau istoria moderna a gimnasticii mondiale in calitate de antrenori ai celei mai valoroase sportive a lumii, Nadia Comaneci.
Au plecat din Romania la inceputul anilor '80, alegand democratia americana. S-au afirmat peste Ocean prin performantele lor. Au reusit totodata sa le impuna americanilor un anume stil de pregatire, dovedindu-le ca sistemul aplicat de ei in Romania a dat roade. Dupa mai bine de 20 de ani de cand s-au aflat in concurenta directa cu lotul olimpic al Romaniei coordonat de alte doua nume de elita ale gimnasticii mondiale, Belu si Bitang, sotii Martha si Bella Karolyi vor reveni in Romania la 26 martie, de asta-data invitati oficial de Fundatia Casa Campionilor, condusa de Mariana Bitang.
Va primi trofeul "Campioni de legenda"
Cei doi vor primi trofeul “Campioni de legenda”, acordat marilor personalitati ale sportului romanesc. Va fi un eveniment la care va asista si Nadia Comaneci.Aflat la resedinta sa de la Houston, Bella Karolyi a povestit pentru Libertatea care era relatia dintre el si Octavian Belu atunci cand se intalneau in sala de concurs ca “adversari”, dar si de ce nu mai vrea sa auda niciodata de afaceri in Romania. “Pentru mine si pentru Martha acest trofeu reprezinta o mare surpriza. Dupa Revolutie, iar inainte de plecarea din tara nici atat, nu am primit vreun premiu sau vreo distinctie de la cineva. Faptul ca acest trofeu ne va fi oferit de Mariana si Tavi inseamna foarte mult pentru noi”, a spus Bella, care a dezvaluit faptul ca dupa plecarea lor din Romania gimnastica din tara a excelat tocmai datorita prezentei la conducerea lotului a unui antrenor ca Octavian Belu.
"M-au scos pe usa din dos"
Cand vine vorba despre motivele pentru care cei trei mari antrenori romani Bella, Goreac si Belu au parasit gimnastica romaneasca, la celalalt capat al firului se asterne timp de secunde bune tacerea. Apoi, cu mai putin aplomb, Bella da si explicatia: “Raspunsul ar trebui sa-l cautati la federatia de gimnastica. S-a dorit ca noi sa plecam pe usa din spate. Federatia ar fi trebuit sa fie doar un organ administrativ si atat”.
A pierdut un milion de dolari
Cu ceva ani in urma, Bella Karolyi a fost convins sa investeasca intr-un post de televiziune, Pax TV, care se adresa iubitorilor cultelor religioase din Romania. Afacerea nu a mers. Bella are si o explicatie: “Am fi vrut sa fim mai puternic sustinuti de Biserica Ortodoxa Romana. Si acum sunt in litigiu cu o anumita persoana pe marginea acestui post de televiziune. Am hotarat sa nu mai fac nici o afacere in Romania”.Bella ne-a facut cunoscut un mic secret de-al sau. “Se intampla ca in multe concursuri importante echipa Romaniei sa urce pe prima treapta a podiumului. Nu i-am purtat niciodata pica lui Tavi. Nu am fost invidios. In sufletul meu era o bucurie ca ceea ce noi am lasat in tara ca sistem a fost continuat”.
Vrea sa mearga cu Belu la vanatoare
Una dintre marile pasiuni ale lui Bella Karolyi (64 ani) e vanatoarea. Cand vine in tara nu rateaza ocazia de a merge la o partida de vanatoare. “Mi-am propus sa-l imbolnavesc si pe Tavi de acest “microb” al pasiunii pentru vanatoare. Chiar zilele trecute am revenit de la o vanatoare de pasari, organizata in Texas. A fost nemaipomenit”, a precizat el. La vara, Bella si Martha si-au propus sa revina in tara pentru o scurta vacanta. Dar nu singuri. De asta-data vor veni insotiti si de cele doua nepotele, Iulia si Cristina. “Cel mai important lucru e sa avem sanatate”, a spus marele antrenor.Si-i doreste pe Tavi si Mariana din nou in salaIn opinia sa, plecarea lui Octavian Belu si a Marianei Bitang din sistemul gimnasticii a lasat un imens gol care se simte la nivel international. “Mi-as dori ca Tavi sa revina in sala. Ii simt lipsa de la marile concursuri. Poate ca intr-un viitor nu prea indepartat va lua decizia de a antrena din nou”. Pentru Bella Karolyi, ideea ca Belu si Bitang sa lucreze impreuna cu el si cu Martha ar fi asemenea unei minuni. “Cred ca nu mi-as putea dori mai mult. Este un vis care nu stiu daca se va realiza vreodata”, a adaugat Karolyi.

Ponor are interzis in Bucuresti
Doctorii de la Institutul de Medicina Sportiva din Bucuresti i-au recomandat gimnastei Catalina Ponor sa nu participe la festivitatile care vor avea loc astazi, cu incepere de la orele 11.00, la Izvorani, unde vor fi premiati cei mai buni sportivi ai Romaniei in anul 2006.
Catalina, care in urma cu mai bine de o saptamana a fost diagnosticata cu scarlatina, va ramane la Constanta, doctorii fiind de parere ca tripla campioana olimpica de la Atena, din 2004, ar fi bine sa nu intre in contact cu sportivii de performanta din celelalte loturi, pentru inca o luna de-acum inainte. Contactat telefonic de Libertatea, antrenorul Matei Stanei a declarat: „Mi se pare o decizie corecta tinand cont de faptul ca ea ar putea fi inca purtatoare de virus. Am acceptat ca ea sa ramana la Constanta, pentru ca, daca prin absurd vreun sportiv de performanta s-ar imbolnavi de scarlatina, nu vreau sa se spuna ca ar fi luat virusul de la Catalina. Nu are rost sa riscam aiurea! In aceste conditii, la festivitatile de maine (n.r - azi) eu voi fi cel care o va reprezenta pe Catalina”, a explicat Stanei. La randul ei, Catalina Ponor, care se simte acum mult mai bine, este nerabdatoare sa-si reia antrenamentele. „Nu m-am decis daca voi participa sau nu la Europenele de la Amsterdam. Imi voi continua insa foarte serios pregatirea pentru Mondialele din toamna”, a declarat ea.

Cătălina Ponor va fi prezentă mîine la festivitatea de premiere de la Izvorani . Timp de o săptămînă, Cătălina Ponor a trebuit să stea în casă, după ce medicii au diagnosticat-o cu scarlatină. Ieri, tripla campioană olimpică a ieşit pentru prima oară în oraş. "Mă simt mult mai bine, nu mai am probleme. Am terminat tratamentul cu penicilină, dar mai trebuie să fac cîteva zile de moldamin. Oricum, cel puţin încă o săptămînă nu am voie să fac efort", a mărturisit ea. Împreună cu antrenorul Matei Stănei, Ponor va participa mîine, de la ora 11:00, la Complexul Sydney 2000 de la Izvorani, la festivitatea de premiere a laureaţilor sportului românesc în anul 2006. "Vom merge la Izvorani, apoi ne vom opri cîteva zile în Bucureşti, unde ne vom întîlni cu Anca Grigoraş, care ne va transmite ultimele noutăţi în materie de punctaj venite de la federaţia internaţională. Vom putea definitiva astfel exerciţiile şi poate intrăm şi puţin în sală", a spus Stănei. "Antrenamentele le vom relua în mod progresiv abia cînd vom reveni la Constanţa şi în cel mult două săptămîni voi decide dacă ne putem prezenta la Campionatele Europene. Dacă raspunsul va fi pozitiv, vom participa doar la bîrnă. De altfel, nu întrecerile continentale erau obiectivul pentru acest an, dar Cătălina progresase mult şi ar fi fost importantă o medalie pentru moralul ei, mai ales că venea după o pauză lungă", a adăugat antrenorul. "Nu m-am gîndit la Europene în aceste zile, ci doar la sănătatea mea", a completat gimnasta.

Fiul Nadiei Comaneci a zburat cu 32 de avioane
La nici un an, Paul Dylan este deja celebru. Si asta nu doar pentru ca s-a nascut intr-o familie de parinti celebri - Nadia si Bart Conner.
Paul Dylan a avut ocazia de a calatori pana in clipa de fata cu 32 de avioane. “Nu mi-a fost frica sa-l iau cu avionul. As putea spune ca se simte minunat atunci cand se afla in avion”, a declarat Nadia. Cel mai lung zbor Paul Dylan il va face in vara acestui an, cand Nadia si Bart il vor aduce pentru prima data in Romania. “Atunci cand va implini un an, am hotarat sa venim impreuna cu el in tara, pentru a respecta acel obicei al taierii motului”, a precizat Nadia. Bella m-a rugat sa fiu si eu prezenta la acest eveniment. Evident, nu voi lipsi”, a mentionat cea mai valoroasa gimnasta din toate timpurile.

Teodora va invita la briosa cu miel
Chiar daca sunt mari nume de referinta in lumea sportului mondial, acasa, dincolo de arenele de sport, vedetele duc o viata cat se poate de normala.
Foarte multe nume de referinta ale sportului romanesc au o mare pasiune: gatitul. In bucatarie reusesc sa faca de cele mai multe ori o adevarata arta. Stabilita de ani buni in Statele Unite ale Americii, la New Jersey, fosta mare gimnasta Teodora Ungureanu-Cepoi este recunoscuta ca fiind o mare gospodina. Toti cei care au servit preparatele culinare gatite de Teodora au spus ca stie sa gateasca de minune. Pentru ca se apropie Sfanta Sarbatoare a Pastelui, Teodora ne-a trimis o reteta speciala: briosa cu miel.
Cine e TeodoraResiteanca Teodora Ungureanu (46 de ani) a cucerit medalia de bronz din concursul pe echipe la gimnastica la JO din 1976 si alte doua medalii in finalele pe aparate: bronz la barna si argint la paralele inegale. Are o fiica, Adriana.
Reteta Teodorei
- 1/2 cana lapte cald- 1/2 cana apa calda- o lingurita de drojdie uscata- 3 cani de faina- 3 galbenusuri de ou- 6 lingurite de unt la temperatura camerei- 1/4 cana de zahar, o lingurita de patrunjel tocat- o lingurita de marjoran tocat
Ingrediente pentru umplutura:- 1/4 cana de ulei de masline- o ceapa mica rosie- 10 asparagus tocat marunt- 6 frunze de spanac tanar tocat- un zuchini (dovlecel) tocat, o lingura de marjoran tocat, sare si piper (dupa gust)- 150 grame de piept de pui- 1/3 cana de lapte gros (concentrat)- un ou - se separa albusul de galbenus- 2 rack-uri de miel (8 cotlete de miel in fiecare rack), care se leaga in forma de coroana
Mod de preparare:Briosa: se amesteca intr-un castronel laptele si apa calda la care se adauga drojdia pana se dizolva. In alt castronel se amesteca faina, galbenusurile de ou, untul, zaharul, patrunjelul, marjoranul si sarea. Se toarna drojdia peste ingredientele amestecate si se amesteca apoi cu o lingura de lemn pana se formeaza coca. Aceasta se framanta aproximativ 10 minute pe un fund de lemn sau se poate folosi mixerul. Se pune intr-un castron si se lasa apoi la crescut. Umplutura: intr-o craticioara se incalzeste la foc mijlociu uleiul de masline, la care se adauga toate ingredientele pentru umplutura citata mai sus, cu exceptia pieptului de pui, laptelui gros si albusului de ou. Timp de 15 minute se amesteca din cand in cand dupa care se lasa sa se raceasca la temperatura camerei. In mixer se amesteca pieptul de pui, taiat marunt, cu albusul si laptele gros dupa care se toarna peste legumele prajite in prima craticioara. Rack-ul de miel: se pune la cuptor 30 de minute la temperatura mijlocie, dupa care se scoate si se adauga umplutura in mijlocul coroanei si se mai coace inca 30 de minute. Se scoate apoi si se lasa afara 20 de minute, timp in care se imparte coca in trei parti egale si se impleteste ca o codita. Se asaza impletitura in jurul rack-ului de miel si se baga la cuptor intre 30 si 45 de minute, dupa preferinta. Acest platou se poate folosi in orice ocazie, dar in special de Sfintele Sarbatori ale Pastelui.

Libertatea 04.03.2007Figure skating's czar and Evin Martin the violonist showed interest in a potential cooperation with the stars of the Romanian gymnastcs , Catalina Ponor and Marian Dragulescu , in a future show.
Ponor says :”It would be an unique experience to me to be in a show with both of them. Edvin Marton is my favourite. My floor exercise in on his music. About Plushenko I can say only that is a great artist on ice.”
Dragulescu says : "I will be honoured to be in the same show with Plushenko and Marton. I consider this idea as a challenge. Obviously , neither I nor Catalina will skate. We’ll do what we know to do best ; gymnastics.”

Plusenko si Marton vor sa colaboreze cu Ponor si Dragulescu
Tarul patinajului mondial, Evgheni Plusenko, si violonistul Edvin Marton s-au aratat foarte interesati de o posibila colaborare pentru un spectacol viitor cu vedetele gimnasticii romanesti, Catalina Ponor si Marian Dragulescu.
Cea care a adus in discutie aceasta varianta a fost Raluca Popescu, organizatoarea spectacolului “Kings on ice”, care a avut loc recent la Bucuresti. “Dupa incheierea spectacolului, la putin timp dupa ce ei au ajuns la hotel, l-am intrebat pe Evgheni daca ar fi interesat de o astfel de colaborare, tinand cont ca atat Catalina, cat si Marian sunt nume reprezentative ale gimnasticii mondiale. A fost foarte incantat de idee si mi-a transmis ca se gandeste ca pentru anul viitor sa-i includa in show-ul lor”, a precizat Raluca Popescu. In momentul in care Catalina va ajunge la Bucuresti, Raluca intentioneaza sa poarte primele discutii despre colaborarea cu Plusenko si Marton. Contactata telefonic, Ponor a declarat: “Pentru mine ar fi o experienta unica sa apar intr-un spectacol alaturi de cei doi. Edvin Marton este favoritul meu in materie de muzica. Solul pe care-l voi face este pe muzica lui. Despre Plusenko pot spune doar ca este un mare artist al ghetii”, a precizat Catalina Ponor. Dragulescu a spus: “Va fi o onoare pentru mine sa apar in acelasi spectacol alaturi de Plusenko si Marton. Consider aceasta idee ca pe o mare provocare. Evident ca nici eu, nici Catalina nu vom patina. Vom face insa ceea ce stim noi sa facem cel mai bine: gimnastica”.
Ar putea sa vina iar la Bucuresti.Cei doi mari artisti care au cucerit lumea ar putea reveni la Bucuresti anul viitor. “Eu am fost doar organizatoarea unui spectacol, care a atras la patinoarul “Flamaropol” oameni din toata tara. Cred insa ca ar fi indicat ca Bucurestiul sa aiba un patinoar nou, ultramodern. E greu sa organizezi un astfel de eveniment in conditiile in care spectatorii reclama o serie de lucruri care tin de lipsa lor de confort”, a explicat Raluca Popescu.

Catalina Ponor in quarantine
Catalina Ponor a intrat in carantina
Catalina Ponor, tripla campioana olimpica la Atena, a fost diagnosticata, in urma cu doua zile, cu scarlatina. Simptomele specifice acestei boli au inceput sa-si faca simtita prezenta la finalul saptamanii trecute.
“Am constatat ca am febra, iar pe corp mi-au aparut niste bubite. Imediat am mers la spital, unde, dupa analizele facute, medicii mi-au spus ca este vorba de scarlatina”, a explicat Catalina pentru Libertatea. Dupa anuntarea diagnosticului, antrenorul Matei Stanei a luat legatura cu directoarea DTSJ Constanta, Elena Francu. Aceasta a dispus ca timp de doua zile sala de gimnastica sa intre intr-un soi de carantina, ieri, reprezentantii Directiei Sanitare facand o dezinfectie. “Toate fetitele vor trece pe la cabinetul medical pentru a fi supuse unui consult”, a precizat Elena Francu.
S-a mutat intr-un loc izolat pentru a nu-si contamina cunoscutii
Catalina Ponor a refuzat pe proprie semnatura internarea in spital, ea intrand automat intr-un soi de carantina. „Din cate am aflat, in multe scoli din Constanta exista cazuri de copii care s-au imbolnavit de scarlatina”, a declarat Matei, care spera ca eleva lui va putea prinde, totusi, Europenele de la Amsterdam, programate la finalul lunii aprilie. “Ne vom reapuca de treaba pe data de 7 martie”, a mentionat el.Intrebata daca a luat decizia sa se mute intr-o casa care apartine antrenorului ei, ca urmare a unor posibile discutii pe care le-ar fi avut cu mama ei, Catalina a declarat: „Domnul Stanei mi-a oferit posibilitatea de a locui aici, pentru a fi tot timpul sub supravegherea dansului. Acum, pe perioada bolii, nu pot pleca acasa, deoarece aici locuiesc singura, iar daca as merge la ai mei, exista riscul contaminarii”, a zis Catalina. "A fost optiunea mea sa plec altundeva" “Zilnic vorbesc la telefon cu mama”, a precizat Catalina. La randul ei, Carmen Ponor, mama gimnastei, a precizat: “A fost optiunea ei de a se muta la domnul Stanei, pentru ca acolo beneficiaza de un spatiu mai mare. Matei Stanei are doua corpuri de casa si intr-unul dintre ele i-a permis Catalinei sa se mute. Se afla intr-un mediu care ii permite sa se antreneze mai bine”.
Incepe constructia caseiPrintre altele, Carmen Ponor, mama Catalinei, a tinut sa precizeze pentru Libertatea ca foarte curand vor incepe lucrarile de constructie pentru casa fiicei ei. “Am terminat cu toate aprobarile si speram ca pana in iarna sa fie incheiata si constructia. Este vorba de un teren de 970 de metri patrati in zona Kamsas, din Constanta, dintre care peste 350 vor fi locuibili. Catalina are aproape 20 de ani si simte nevoia sa locuiasca singura“, a spus mama sportivei.

In ciuda celor sase zile de pauza dictate de medici, Catalina Ponor (foto, alaturi de antrenorul Matei Stanei) nu dezarmeaza.
Tripla campioana olimpica se afla în carantina, acasa la Matei Stanei, si asteapta ca tratamentul cu penicilina si glucoza sa-si faca efectul. Ea a fost diagnosticata cu scarlatina, o “boala a copilariei” care a facut destule victime la Constanta. “Am închis o zi sala unde s-a pregatit Catalina, pentru a face dezinfectie. Copiii vor reveni însa de mâine la antrenamente”, spune Elena Frâncu, directorul DSJ Constanta.Pauza nu îi schimba Catalinei obiectivele. “Ne-a frânat un pic pregatirea, dar nu renuntam la ideea de a merge la Europene. Vom relua antrenamentele imediat, iar peste doua-trei saptamâni vom avea, probabil, o verificare. Decisiva va fi însa evolutia la bârna de la Internationalele din aprilie. Oricum, noi tintim mondialele si Olimpiada de la Beijing”, declara antrenorul Matei Stanei.
Debut jurnalistic
Dana Sofronie (foto) debuteaza astazi în paginile cotidianului ProSport din postura de corespondent la Constanta. In vârsta de 19 ani, Dana este campioana olimpica la gimnastica în 2004, cu echipa, ea obtinând la Atena si o medalie de argint la sol. De asemenea, Sofronie mai are în palmares si doua medalii la europene: aur cu echipa si argint la individual compus.

Catalina left home abt 2 months ago , she is now living in her coach's house . Catalina's mother adds that it was her daughter's decision , that they didn't have differences, but Mr. Stanei has a bigger house. The coach says that he doesn't know anout aby conflict between Catalina and her mom , but she has to have a strict schedule . Cătălina a plecat de acasă
Triplă campioană olimpică la Atena, în 2004, gimnasta Cătălina Ponor a plecat de acasă de aproximativ două luni. Carmen Ponor (foto medalion), mama gimnastei, a declarat pentru Mediafax că fiica sa locuieşte la antrenorul Matei Stănei.
Carmen Ponor a mai specificat că decizia plecării de acasă i-a aparţinut gimnastei, dar a precizat că nu a fost vorba de o ceartă între ea şi Cătălina. "Nu este vorba de o ceartă între mine şi Cătălina, noi ne-am înţeles întotdeauna foarte bine. A fost opţiunea ei de a se muta, pentru că acolo beneficiază de un spaţiu mai mare. Matei Stănei are două corpuri de casă şi într-unul dintre ele i-a permis Cătălinei să se mute. Probabil că se simte mai bine acolo şi e într-un
mediu care îi permite să se antreneze mai bine", a afirmat Carmen Ponor pentru Mediafax.
"Cătălina locuieşte în prezent la mine, urmează un tratament riguros şi sper ca până pe 7 martie să revină la pregătire. Nu cred că există vreun conflict între ea şi mama sa, Cătălina a ales să locuiască la mine", a declarat Matei Stănei.
În ceea ce priveşte cariera Cătălinei, aceasta a intrat în impas în momentul în care era decisă să revină în activitate. Ea s-a îmbolnăvit de scarlatină, şi a fost nevoită să întrerupă antrenamentele, pentru trei săptămâni.

Asa spune Andreea Raducan ca a fost în perioada cînd practica gimnastica. "Vorbesc mult si cam repede, nu?", zîmbeste Andreea. E alta persoana decît cea care, în urma cu sase ani si jumatate, traia extazul si agonia la Sydney. Fiinta fragila, care parcurgea drumul dintre vis si cosmar la diferenta de cîteva zile, a disparut. În locul ei e o tipa matura, sigura pe sine, cu pareri ferme, care stie foarte bine unde sta si ce planuri si-a propus sa duca la bun sfîrsit. Doar privirea e la fel: scormonitoare si directa. Si zîmbetul, unul din toata inima. La cei 23 de ani împliniti la sfîrsit de septembrie, Andreea Raducan înca se gîndeste la gimnastica, dar spune ca retragerea n-a fost un moment dureros, ci mai degraba firesc. Acum, viata ei înseamna altceva. - Ce loc ocupa acum gimnastica în viata ta, Andreea?- A fost ceva ce am facut cu mare drag, tot ceea ce sînt eu acum vine de acolo. A fost multa vreme prioritatea mea numarul unu, dar acum lucrurile nu mai stau asa si e firesc. Nu m-am rupt de gimnastica, dovada ca urmaresc competitiile, urmaresc ce se întîmpla la noi, cu schimbarea de generatie, sînt la curent cu noul cod de punctaj. Doar ca nu mai e pe primul loc.- Ce te-a învatat sportul?- În primul rînd, sa fiu disciplinata. Si asa am ramas, n-as putea trai haotic. Am o agenda în care îmi notez tot ce am de facut, ca sa nu uit nimic, îmi pregatesc de cu seara lucrurile cu care vreau sa ma îmbrac a doua zi. Sînt foarte ordonata. - Si ce ti-a luat?- Se spune ca noi, gimnastele, ne pierdem copilaria si, dintr-un punct de vedere, nu e gresit. Dar nu trebuie sa dramatizam. Daca nu am fi avut un regim strict, nu am fi facut performanta. Ar fi trecut anii si m-as fi întrebat: "Ok, am facut gimnastica, dar cu ce m-am ales?". Mi-ar fi parut rau. În plus, ai mei m-au sprijinit mereu, au fost alaturi de mine.Idol? Nadia!- Ai avut un idol în copilarie?- Mi-a placut foarte mult Nadia, desi nu am vazut-o concurînd. Stiam însa totul din povesti, mereu se reamintea de ea cînd era vreo competitie importanta, se aratau imagini. Asta ma stimula, ma îndemna s-o urmez. - Poate e un paradox, dar se spune despre gimnaste ca sînt mature dintr-un punct de vedere, pentru ca experimenteaza de mici concurenta, suferinta, un regim strict, dar cînd ies din sport nu sînt totusi pregatite sa înfrunte viata. E corect?- Da. Noi nu aveam ceea ce se cheama un trai normal. Ne bucuram cînd faceam antrenamente si concursuri bune, stiam doar de ale noastre. În rest, nu ne întîlneam cu alte persoane, nu citeam ziare, ieseam destul de putin. Nu prea stiam ce se întîmpla în tara, în lume. Cînd am renuntat la gimnastica am simtit aceste goluri. Dar ele se umplu treptat.- Momentul de vîrf al carierei?- Sydney, cu siguranta. Acolo am încercat cea mai mare multumire. Apoi Mondialele de la Gent, din anul urmator. Au avut un final fericit.- Dar momentul cel mai trist? Sau au coincis în mare masura?- Da. Sydney-ul se împarte pentru mine în doua, însa prefer sa vad partea plina a paharului. A fost o poveste care a început minunat, apoi a luat alta întorsatura. Sînt lucruri pe care am început sa le constientizez ulterior, sînt lucruri pe care nu le înteleg nici azi. Totul a însemnat însa o lectie de viata.Razbunarea de la Gent- Ai perceput Mondialele de la Gent, din 2001, ca pe o revansa?- A fost un concurs foarte frumos într-o atmosfera ciudata. Undeva, în sufletul meu, voiam sa demonstrez ca pot sa ma adun, sa trec peste momentul Sydney. Extraordinar a fost faptul ca nu eram deloc stresata. - A fost acolo un moment bizar. Horkina era în spatele tau si, la un moment dat, ti-a facut trei cruci pe spate. Crezi ca se temea de tine ca adversara? - Eu habar n-aveam de povestea asta, dar mi-a spus cineva. Nu stiu ce sa cred, daca îi era sau nu frica de mine. Noi poate mai trageam cu ochiul la antrenamente la adversare, însa în timpul concursurilor n-aveam timp de asa ceva. Ma gîndeam doar la exercitiul meu, la minutul meu si jumatate, voiam sa arat ca nu m-am chinuit degeaba. Nu ma concentram deloc pe adversare.Evadare din rutina- Ce îti amintesti în primul rînd din anii petrecuti la Deva?- Sînt multe. Asteptam cu nerabdare verificarile dinaintea concursurilor. Apoi, era o perioada foarte frumoasa la fiecare sfîrsit de an, cu multe competitii. Pe cît de urît era începutul de an, pe atît de interesant era finalul. Se întîmpla sa venim de undeva, sa dormim o noapte la "23 august", ni se trimiteau bagajele cu haine curate de la Deva, iar a doua zi plecam în alta parte. A, si petrecerile de la Deva. Erau evadarea noastra din rutina.- Ce fel de gimnasta crezi ca ai fost?- Pe mine nu m-a împins nimeni de la spate ca sa fac sport. Parintii mereu spuneau: "Daca nu e buna, dati-o acasa!". În acelasi timp însa, m-au învatat sa vorbesc clar, sa spun ce vreau pentru ca parerea mea conteaza. Am fost rebela, dar în limitele bunului simt.- Cum ai acceptat retragerea?- A fost o decizie care a venit logic. Nu mai simteam ca pot face lucrurile bine la concurs si cred ca nimeni nu m-ar fi iertat daca as fi înselat asteptarile. A intervenit pubertatea, începusem sa ma îngras... În plus, ma obisnuisem sa cîstig, îmi placea. Numai ca nu ma mai puteam prezenta la un nivel ridicat. Si nu regret ca n-am întins lucrurile doar asa, ca sa particip la doua Olimpiade. Nu mi-ar fi cazut bine sa fiu si eu, pe acolo.20 nu suna bine- Ce parere ai despre noul cod de punctaj?- Mi se pare foarte greu de explicat. Unii au crezut însa ca e mai bine asa, dar pentru public, pentru telespectatori e dificil de urmarit. - Cum îti suna nota 20?- Mult mai rau decît 10.- N-ai luat niciodata un 10, nu?- N-am luat pentru ca pe atunci era greu pîna îti alcatuiai un exercitiu care sa porneasca din nota maxima. Stiu ca la Olimpiada de la Sydney am luat 9,837, cel mai mult, dar în alte concursuri am primit si 9,850.Facultate si zile plineAndreea face acum si Facultatea de Jurnalism. E un domeniu care a atras-o, mai ales dupa ce a comentat competitia de gimnastica din timpul Jocurilor Olimpice de la Atena. Nu e pasionata însa de presa scrisa, cu toate ca "îmi placea sa fac compuneri la scoala". Zilele ei sînt întotdeauna pline. "Nu sînt persoana cea mai ocupata din lume, dar am ce face. Ma trezesc la 8, apoi merg la birou, la Fundatia Olimpica. Urmeaza poate un interviu, o sedinta, alte întîlniri. În timpul liber ascult muzica, merg la filme, ma întîlnesc cu fostele colege, ma pregatesc pentru examene", spune ea.Si-a dat toate jucariileÎn perioada în care s-a aflat la Deva, fosta gimnasta avea camera plina cu jucarii de plus, de toate dimensiunile si culorile. Acum nu le mai are. "Le-am dat copiilor. O parte la Bîrlad, orasul meu natal. Alta parte le-am dat unor copii de la un orfelinat. A fost chiar un spectacol la Manastirea Antim, am fost chemata si eu si m-am gîndit:

31/12/06 03:00 h.Indiscutiblemente, Nadia Elena Comaneci ha sido la gran estrella de la gimnasia mundial. La deportista rumana reinventó este deporte con figuras y ejercicios anteriormente impensables. Con 14 años se convirtió en la primera gimnasta en lograr la máxima puntuación en un ejercicio en competición olímpica. Fue en los Juegos Olímpicos de Montreal 1976, en los que además ganó tres medallas de oro (general individual, barra de equilibrio y paralelas asimétricas), una de plata en la prueba general por equipos y otra de bronce en suelo. Su impacto fue tan grande que no sólo se convirtió en el rostro de aquellos Juegos, sino que hoy, 30 años después, sigue siendo considerada uno de los mayores mitos –si no el mayor, como opinan los lectores de MD– del deporte femenino.

El '10' que pasó a la historia como un '1.00'
Pese a que el 18 de julio de 1976 Nadia había realizado un ejercicio perfecto, el luminoso de Montreal no reflejó un '10.00' sino un '1.00' debido a un célebre fallo logístico. Meses antes de los JJ.OO. Daniel Baumat, el responsable de marcadores, había preguntado a los responsables de la Federación Internacional si cabía la posibilidad de que alguno de los gimnastas lograra un 'diez'; si así fuera, debía cambiar los dígitos para que la máxima puntuación pudiera quedar reflejada. Le dijeron que tranquilo, que “era imposible que ni en 100 años se diera esa nota”. Un Baumat taquicárdico y unos dirigentes con la cabeza gacha intentaron salvar la situación como pudieron. Curiosamente, tras Montreal esos marcadores se siguieron utilizando... pero sólo en aquellas competiciones en las que Nadia Comaneci no tomaba parte, por si acaso

There's a nice article abt Cristina Bontas in Libertatea today.
She tells how she left in Italy after the 1992 OG and then to Canada where she has been invited to a banquet organized by a gymnastics club, that she lives now in Hamilton where she owns her gym club - World Class Gymnastics - together with her husband, Gabriel.
The two of them met in Bacau at the Sport University and they have 2 kids : Elisa and Eric.
"They spend all the time with us in the gym. The girl practises gymnastics since she was 18 months old. I don't know if she will go on for the high level performance. She will decide."
The pictures fm the World - Indiannapolis in 1991 where she got a gold medal or those taken during the OG in 1992 are a proof for her perfromances. "When I see these images I feel like I want to go back to the gymnasium even now."
Cristina and Gabi are loved by the Romanian community fm Hamilton, but also by the Canadians.
Celestina Popa and Vanda Hadarean are her friends.
She keeps in touch with Gina Gogean only , but she would like to meet Lavinia Milosovici , her former mate.
"I felt sorry hearing that her little girl has health problems, I wanted to help her, but I didn't have her adress.”

Dupa Jocurile Olimpice de la Barcelona, din 1992, fosta medaliata cu argint Cristina Bontas-Tantaru a decis sa plece in Italia.
Invitatia pe care a primit-o ulterior din Canada, de a participa la un banchet organizat la un club de gimnastica, a tentat-o destul de mult. “Asa am ajuns peste Ocean. Mi-a placut mai mult in Canada. Clubul care m-a invitat mi-a facut contract de munca si asa ca am ramas ca antrenoare”, povesteste cea care detine acum, in Hamilton, unul din cele mai renumite cluburi de gimnastica.World Class Gymnastics e condus atat de Cristina, dar si de sotul ei, Gabriel. Cei peste 370 de copii canadieni beneficiaza de cele mai bune conditii de pregatire. “Cel mai greu a fost atunci cand a trebuit sa ne decidem sa nu mai lucram ca angajati si sa luam totul pe cont propriu”, spune Gabriel Tantaru. Cu toate ca ea era stabilita de ani buni in Canada, Cristina si Gabi s-au cunoscut in Romania, la IEFS-ul din Bacau. “Ne-am imprietenit si apoi ne-am dat seama ca nu putem sta unul fara celalalt”, isi aminteste Gabi.
Fiica ei e sportiva
Au doi copii: Elisa si Eric. “Tot timpul si-l petrec alaturi de noi, in sala. Fetita face gimnastica de la 18 luni. Nu stiu daca va merge spre marea performanta."Ea va decide", e de parere Cristina. Fotografiile facute la CM de la Indiannapolis in 1991, unde a reusit sa obtina medalia de aur, sau cele facute in timpul JO de la Barcelona din 1992, unde a cucerit argintul cu echipa, stau marturie vie a faptului ca performantele Cristinei in gimnastica nu vor fi trecute niciodata la capitolul... si altele. “Cand ma uit la aceste imagini am senzatia ca as vrea sa intru si acum in sala”, explica ea. In Canada, Cristina si Gabi sunt foarte iubiti de comunitatea romanilor din Hamilton, dar si de canadieni. Cristina e prietena cu Celestina Popa si cu Vanda Hadarean.
Vrea s-o vada pe Milosovici
Din tara tine legatura doar cu Gina Gogean. Si-ar dori sa o intalneasca pe fosta ei colega Lavinia Milosovici. “Mi-a parut tare rau cand am auzit ca fetita ei are probleme de sanatate. Am vrut si eu sa o ajut dar nu am avut nici o adresa de-a ei”.

Specialistii spun ca Romania ar fi avut nevoie de branduri puternice, pentru produse sau servicii concrete, nu de un brand de tara care pune in aceeasi galeata industria IT si cartoful ecologic.
Romania se va mindri in Uniunea Europeana cu sportul de performanta, cultura, calitatea oamenilor si cu diversitatea biologica. Acestea sint atuurile pe care le-a hotarit Agentia pentru Strategii Guvernamentale in construirea brandului de tara. Specialistii in branding nu sint insa de acord cu ele. „Daca dai tema asta unui student, la fel ti-ar fi raspuns si el“, considera Aneta Bogdan, Managing Partner la Brandient, una dintre agentiile consultate pentru feedback asupra strategiei. „Daca n-ai construit niciodata un brand, ce te indreptateste sa crezi ca stii sa faci unul care este mai complex decit toate la un loc?“, se intreaba totodata Bogdan.
Brand in functie de cererea europeana
Contraoferta sefului Brandient la varianta Agentiei pentru Strategii Guvernamentale o reprezinta brandurile puternice, „fie ele sectoriale sau de programe. Sint categorii de produse, servicii sau proiecte care pot sa reprezinte tara in afara mult mai bine decit ar face-o diplomatia, diaspora sau cultura“. Nici Bogdan Naumovici, directorul de creatie de la Leo Burnett, nu crede ca atuurile avansate sint suficient de „focalizate“ pentru o pozitionare si un brand de tara. „Trebuie sa-ti stabilesti prioritati. Nu poti fi de toate: si cu agricultura ecologica, si cu IT-isti. E nevoie de o armonizare si o rafinare. Plus ca trebuie sa te uiti si la ce vrea Europa de la tine“, sustine Naumovici.
Zece milioane in trei ani
„Nu e o lista definitiva. E destul de generala si traseaza directiile mari“, se apara Alfred Bulai, presedintele Agentiei. „E nevoie de un efort de sistematizare, insa nu facut printr-un centralism aberant“, sustine Bulai, care mai adauga totodata ca brandul de tara nu este un panaceu universal care sa rezolve toate problemele Romaniei. Seful Agentiei declara in noiembrie anul trecut ca este nevoie de circa zece milioane de euro si de un interval de trei ani pentru a construi brandul „Romania“. „Citeva milioane de euro pe an se pot duce numai pe promovarea externa, pe canale precum CNN sau Discovery“, sustinea insa Bogdan Naumovici.

Ideea „Branding Romania“ a fost initiata in 2005, cind Agentia pentru Strategii Guvernamentale a alcatuit un grup consultativ din lideri de opinie si oameni de marketing, reunit de patru-cinci ori in decurs de un an. In vara anului trecut, Agentia a organizat o cerere de oferta pentru a pune pe roate Proiectul „Branding Romania“, la care nu s-a prezentat insa nici un concurent.
Unele tari au dat-o-n bara
Experienta Slovaciei, care a aderat la UE cu aproape trei ani inaintea Romaniei, demonstreaza ca o campanie de branding a tarii, chiar si realizata de o companie straina bine platita, ar putea pina la urma sa nu fie de mare folos.
Ambasadorul Slovaciei in Romania, Jan Soth, a explicat ca nici dupa mai bine de doi ani de promovare asidua a brandului de tara de catre Bratislava, realizat cu importante investitii financiare si expertiza avansata, populatia din celelalte state membre UE nu are o idee foarte clara despre ce rol poate juca Slovacia in cadrul Uniunii. Ambasadorul a insistat ca profilul unei tari nu poate fi creat artificial printr-o campanie de branding si de promovare, ci se naste in timp, prin interactiunile dintre cetatenii europeni. Soth a exemplificat aceasta idee aratind ca, desi Slovacia are facilitati excelente pentru turismul montan si acest lucru a fost prezentat explicit in cadrul campaniei de PR desfasurate in 2004, de-abia acum europenii incep sa descopere atuurile ei turistice. In Ungaria nu a existat un proces de construire a unui brand de tara propriu-zis, accentul cazind mai degraba pe promovarea produselor cu amprenta nationala. „Exportarea“ in UE a identitatii culturale a fost permanent in atentia guvernelor succesive de la Budapesta, care s-au luptat pentru promovarea in Europa a salamului Pik, un fel de salam de Sibiu unguresc, sau a vinului Tokay, arata fostul ambasador al Romaniei la Budapesta Calin Fabian, actualmente consilier de politica externa al prim-ministrului.
Alte state au constatat ca este utila crearea unui logo al tarii, mai ales in campaniile pentru promovarea turismului. In timp ce Spania a reusit sa il consacre pe al ei la nivel european, Letonia s-a straduit deocamdata degeaba. In mod similar, Bulgaria nu a realizat un brand de tara, pentru ca ministerele nu au reusit sa se puna de acord asupra caracteristicilor nationale principale, care ar trebui promovate in exterior. Dana Sofronie, former Olympic champion at Athens in 2004, celebrated her 19th birthday yesterday
Being a way too steady teenager , Dana chose to organize her birthday in her parent’s house. Some friends, her brother and those who gave her life have been beside her, talking with a nostalgia about the former gymnast’s successes.
Every gift had its charm,but the most surprising one came from an ardent fan of the Romanian gymnastics. Magda Petrescu , accompanied by her daughter, Alexandra , offered fm NadiaVideoclips fanclub’s side a framed collage of Daniela Sofronie’s pictures. During the cantenments in Deva the whipped cream fight was a ritual. This time Dana got off untainted.
Being a student in the 12th class of the Sport High School, Sofronie planned to pass the examination with a high grade and then to apply to 2 Universities : The Sport University and The Police Academy. “Studies are now my priority , I am not thinking of anything else.” confessed the teenager who is also hired by the Constanta County Sport Authority.

Dana Sofronie, fosta campioana olimpica de la JO Atena 2004, a implinit ieri 19 ani. Ea a petrecut acest eveniment intr-un cadru restrans, alaturi de prietenii foarte apropiati.
Fiind o adolescenta mult prea cuminte, Dana a ales sa organizeze petrecerea in casa parinteasca. Fiecare cadou a avut farmecul sau, dar cel mai surprinzator s-a dovedit a fi cel din partea unei sustinatoare infocate a gimnasticii romanesti. Magda Petrescu, insotita de fiica sa Alexandra, i-a oferit din partea fanilor clubului “Nadia Videoclips” un tablou cuprinzand un colaj de poze cu Dana Sofronie.
A lipsit bataia cu friscaPe vremea cantonamentului de la Deva, din ritualul gimnastelor nu lipsea bataia cu frisca. De aceasta data, Dana a “scapat” nemanjita. Eleva in clasa a XII-a la Liceul cu Program Sportiv, Sofronie si-a propus sa treaca examenul de bacalaureat cu note mari, apoi sa se inscrie la doua facultati: IEFS si Academia de Politie. “Cartea are acum prioritate, nu ma mai gandesc la nimic altceva”, a marturisit tanara, care este si angajata la DSJ Constanta.

The former gymnast , Daniela Sofronie , Olympic champion with the team in Athens 2004 , is 19 yo today. She celebrated her birthday on Saturday at her parent’s house together with the relatives and few friends. Unlike the past years when the celebration found her always at Deva’s cantonment, the whipped cream fight – now a custom among the gymnasts - missed this time. Among other gifts , Daniela had a wonderful surprise fm a hardcore fan . Magda Petrescu accompanied by her daughter, Alexandra , offerd her a collage of photos with Daniela in different situations from “NadiaVideoclips” fanclub's side , of whose president is Mai Loon fm Malaysia. The board included a greeting :”NadiaVideoclips club wishes you a Happy Birthday”. The fan took a lot of pictures that are to be posted soon on the club’s site.

Daniela Sofronie a putut mînca fără grijă din tortul primit de ziua sa
Fosta gimnastă Daniela Sofronie, campioană olimpică împreună cu echipa României, la Atena în 2004, împlineşte astăzi 19 ani. Constănţeanca şi-a sărbătorit ziua de naştere sîmbătă, la casa părintească împreună cu rudele şi cîţiva prieteni. Faţă de anii trecuţi, cînd această sărbătoare a găsit-o mai mereu în cantonamentul de la Deva, a lipsit bătaia cu frişcă, devenită deja un obicei între gimnaste. Printre numeroasele cadouri, Daniela a avut parte de o frumoasă surpriză din partea unor admiratoare înfocate. Magda Petrescu, însoţită de fiica sa Alexandra, i-a oferit din partea fanilor clubului “Nadia Videoclips”, a cărui preşedintă este Mai Loon, din Malaesia, un tablou cuprinzând un colaj de poze, în care gimnasta Daniela Sofronie era surprinsă în diverse ipostaze. Tabloul era completat de o urare: “Nadia Videoclips Club îţi urează La Mulţi ani!”. Admiratoarea a realizat o mulţime de fotografii, urmînd ca în cel mai scurt timp să le posteze pe siteul clubului.

Q – What events asked yr presence in Romania ?
Nadia – I came from this Gala fm Barcelona where I received this trophy that I didn't expect. In the past 100 yrs many athelets created legeds and when I have been nominated the one to get the trophy,I've talked to my husband and we decided that I shall come to the Gala. And of course, being so close to my country, I said that is very good to come home , to see my family and I had this pleasant surprise to receive thanks for what I've done from the dear ones and then it was this gala here..
Q – How it was in Barcelona?
Nadia – It was a short trip, we arrived only few hours before the gala,it was a kind of mini-Oscar for sport…sportmen fm Spain , mainly football players and tennis players…me and our manager, Mr.Paul Ziert , witnessed this Gala which was very touching.
Q – Is true . If we recall correctly, Steffi Graff was on the 2nd place and on the 3 rd..
Nadia – Martina Navratilova. For men – Michael Jordan was on the 1st place.
Q (to Topescu) – What do u say about this prize?
Topescu – Is just another proof that a Romanian is admired all over the world. Something that we, here , forget sometimes. We remember them –I don't mean Nadia, but another personalities – only when they receive prizes abroad.
Q - Do u think that there'll ever be a clear 10 like Nadia's?
Topescu - This can't be as the Code is changed now and the system is different, but is good cause in this way we'll keep the memory of that 10 that amazed everyone.
Nadia - Last year , in Oklahoma, the manager who was in charge with the Olympic boards at Montreal told us something very interesting. When they prepared the board's construction, they called International Gymnastics Federation and asked if is possible for any gymnast to get a perfect note. The Federation answered "No, nobody can have a 10" so they built the board in such a way that they didnt add light on the 4th face. When the arbiters calculated my mark and they decided that is a 10, the man had to show the mark , but he didn't know how , so that 1,00 was lighted on. He told us that after the OG he had to use the boards, they built many of them and had to use them and so he took them everywhere where I wasn't competing. ( smiles)
Q - Do you remember how many titles themedia offered u ?

Topescu - You had to see the Canadian TV sport caster , in the evening after Nadia's success.. he was sending his salute to the TV audience "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen" and then he was turning back where there was a billboard with Nadia's picture on the podium , i have the picture in my eyes even now, and he was saying to the billboard "Good evening, Nadia" and then he was continuing doing his job. ( laughs , applauds). A very nice idea that was loved by everyone.

Topescu - Nadia was like a rock , Bela Karoly was boiling and our coregrapher Geza Pojar was all around the arbiters and for 28 minutes they discussed having differences until the moment when somebody fm the official staff came dressed with a green jacket ,i remember even now, pushed the button and that 9,85 light was on. I indignantly said some words without offensing anyone, but I said some words about the arbiters..
Q - At that time this could mean repercussive measures.
Topescu - I have been asked by phone if I was arrested yet or not . I didn't say anything about the competition's organization , is hard now to let the whole recorded moment to run cause it will take 28 minutes, but I said something like "Dear arbiters, if u have children home, don't u think that they will ask u when u go back home < our mothers, why did u misjudge Nadia's score?>"( Nadia laughs) This is what i've said, nothing bad , it was a sentimental moment.
Q - While Mr.Topescu was suffering behind the screen , what about u, Nadia?
Nadia - I was simply waiting..i could see Bela walking fm here to there in that way...i think he wanted to intimidate the arbiters in a way or another, Mrs. Simionescu was the chief-arbiter, but i was waiting there like u said...and i saw that short man coming , looking around on the table and pushing the button and here there was my 9,85 and with this I came on the 2nd place.

Q - How it is to be Nadia Comaneci ? Everybody knows u, everybody stops u, u can see everyone is happy when u appear anywhere , being a shop or an event ? Everybody knows u and everybody loves u.
Nadia - I was surprised about this when I defected. Actually, the people there knew Bart and stopped him for an autograph because he didn't change much and I was out of the limelight, in 1984 i retired and the Americans didn't have the chance to see me on 1980 OG due to boycot when they didn't broadcast anything fm Moscow...and i have changed in 15-20 yrs, i wasn't the same like when i was 14. So Bart used to ask people "You don't want an autograph fm Nadia Comaneci , too?" and they were very surprised "Oh , u changed so much ! U were so cute at 14 !" ( laughs + applauds) This is what I got all the time. Now is different because I lived there for a while..is very nice to be appreciated, People remember Montreal moment, I didn't realize...but after 31 years many people remember where they were exactly when i had this 10..Is a pleasant surprise to see that I am in people's memories, this is wonderful.
Q - And not only...because u have been nominated in the first 10 great Romanians of all times, many people expressed their vote thru the internet so this means they are young, they didn't see the Montreal moment
Nadia - They didn't see the Montreal moment live, but thru the history (television and newspapers) they understood what happened there. But I am happy cause I was choosen among the women and it was amazing considering the company i had in that top.
Topescu - I shall answer to the question "How it is to be Nadia Comaneci?" and I shall bold the human part .Knowing her since she was 14 I can tell you that she didn't change and she still is the same balanced person, modest , civilized, respectful and she has one big flaw ; she doesn't know to say." Topescu - She doesn't refuse anyone. She has the patience to listen everyone.I ascertained this in many ocassions. At Montreal , when I was going out from the gymnasium a little old lady stopped me,she was about 60 yo and asked me (changes his voice to immitate the old lady) "Please give me a picture with Nadia's autograph. Is my last wish. I don't wanna die until i have this picture. " The next day I found her in the same place, i gave her the picture and she was very happy. So the women that u were talking about, not only from Romania, but from all over the world..they love u. ( she smiles)
(talking about gymnastics and how her mom led her steps to gymnastics cause she was destroying the beds and couch in the house)
Topescu - After your success many couches and beds were destroyed in Romania cause the kids heard that u did like that . The nation's couches have been destroyed!Nadia - And is my fault now! (laughs)
Q - How tough is this career , physically speaking?
Nadia – To me..it didn't seem so very difficult. It is a lot of work, but we knew that from the very beginning. If u like anything in life, if u have this urge to do , to learn.. I also liked a lot to compete. I wasn't very impressed by the training sessions, but the competition was what I was waiting for. Every child likes to compete , if is with a bike , if is running ..I liked it and that's why I can say that I would have done any other sport if it was to go to before gymnastics..and I always had small expectations fm my career. I didn't start cause I wanted to go to Olympics and to win 5 gold medals. I was asked in the airport by a journalist before departure (changes voice to imitate him)"Nadia , u go to the Olympics , what do u expect?" I said "I wanna win a medal. And if is possible, to be a gold one"
So small expectation and that's why the results were bigger.
Topescu – Gymnastics is a sport with a certain risk,like many other sports mostly when is about performance level. But during the childhood u don't realize it. U don't have that self-preservation instinct that u start to have at 14-15 yo. Until then , to Nadia and her mates gymnastics seemed a game.
Q – Yes, but it was a very ordered life..to take care since a very early age of what u eat , what u do..
Nadia – But I am a tidy person even now. I take care of what's happening daily basis , I organize my schedule in such a way to make happy the people I work with, I have to make myself happy, to find time for some gym , to be careful what I eat because I care about how I look and how I feel. (applauds). During my career I have learnt that is very important to organize yr life and this is what I have from gymnastics.
Q – Yes, but it was a taugh work since a very early age
Nadia – Yes, but what "tough" means ?
Q – U were just a kid !
Nadia – Many people lament us, but I didn't lament myself.Yes, it is hard, but if it was easy everybody would have a gold medal. U can't have an Olympic champion over the night. A champion is not born a champion like a princess . If the mother is a queen , I am a princess. I have a baby , but it doesn't mean that he is an Olympic champion.

My husband had 11 surgeries. He says "Yes, I had . So ? I knew the risks , but I wanted so much to be a gymnast" So if u want…Besides, gymnastics is not for everybody.

(about immigration , coming back , marriage & baby)
Nadia – It was difficult in the beginning because immigration is difficult for everyone , mostly when u are well known , cause people watch yr every step every day, I did well , but not so well with the English language. U need to try to adapt which is really hard and I missed my family and friends very much. And because only in a month Romania became a free country and knowing that I can come back anytime changed my whole life there because I didn't have that feeling anymore …that I am imprisoned in a place from where I can't come back.
Q – How about the come back in 1994?
Nadia – I had many emotions…
Topescu – There is a scene in a plane , you watching the Romanian territory thru the window and u started to tear abundantly.
Nadia – Yes, I was emotioned cause before landing in Bucharest we stopped in Timisoara and from there we went all around the country and I had even more heart beats…after 5 years…I didn't know exactly the reaction of the audience , my reaction , to see my mates again . A real heart beat , what can I say ?
Q- But these heart beats led to a big society event . The wedding fm 1996 was one of the most broadcasted moments.
Nadia – It was because when we decided to marry , both me and Bart decided to do it here because I couldn't take this happy moment away from the Romanians, we had to celebrate together this event. That's why we wanted to make it here.
Topescu – Tell us how Bart asked u to marry him
Nadia – I don't know which moment u mean. I know only that…So…he asked me to marry in 1994. ( pause…she looks to Topescu to see if this is the moments he talks about )
Topescu – Yes.
Nadia – Yes.
Topescu – But how it was ? Cause I know it from Bart.
Nadia – He organized a dinner…we were in Amsterdam. This is what u talk about ?
Topescu – Yes.

Nadia – He organized a special dinner in Amsterdam , he had the plan done , everybody knew that he will ask me to marry him , except me.
Q – This is how it was suppose to be.
Nadia – The ring was ready…when I was in Japan…cause I have a very curious nature and I realize very quickly when something is going on.. if he asks something I know what he means…so he had to wait for me to go away and to be really far away to take care about the ring. He looked to all my rings, he knew one that fits that finger exactly , he ordered the ring in Dallas…And before going to the restaurant ( she means now the Amsterdam dinner) , he started to dress up 3 hours in advance. Me, I start to get everything ready just 1hour and half in advance..he was nervous, he was walking fm here to there..left –right..and then somebody knocked on the door , it was the champagne..and then he kneeled down and asked me to marry him. ( applauds + laughters)

Nadia – Last year Dylan Paul was born on 3rd of June , an event that we wanted ,of course, it wasn't the right time for me until then, Bart wanted it since time ago. And , as Bart says , when I gave the green light , we have been blessed with this baby boy born on 3 rd of June. And we hope to come in Romania with him around June when is the "Children's Day"because the little one hasn't been in Romania yet .
Q- 3rd of June means that zodiacal he is "Gemini", specific for artists. Would u like him to be a gymnast?
Nadia – He'll probably go to gymnastics cause we have the gymnasium in Oklahoma, I can't be sure that he will continue gymnastics up to Olympic level, but gymnastics is the base for many other sport fields , good for coordination and I don't think that will harm even if he will decide to do something else in life.
Q – How it is now? Is hard with a small child ..

Nadia – Of course I get involved, I have almost non-stop connection with the Federation here , I try to help them as I can with a sponsor , with and idea, with a show that we organize fm time to time in USA. I'll always be close to gymnastics because gymnastics made me who I am, is the career I know and every single thing that I am part of abroad , even if is an official dinner or other thing, is related to gymnastics. Nadia – It was difficult in the beginning because immigration is difficult for everyone , mostly when u are well known , cause people watch yr every step every day, I did well , but not so well with the English language. U need to try to adapt which is really hard and I missed my family and friends very much. And because only in a month Romania became a free country and knowing that I can come back anytime changed my whole life there because I didn't have that feeling anymore …that I am imprisoned in a place from where I can't come back.
Q – How about the come back in 1994?
Nadia – I had many emotions…
Topescu – There is a scene in a plane , you watching the Romanian territory thru the window and u started to tear abundantly.
Nadia – Yes, I was emotioned cause before landing in Bucharest we stopped in Timisoara and from there we went all around the country and I had even more heart beats…after 5 years…I didn't know exactly the reaction of the audience , my reaction , to see my mates again . A real heart beat , what can I say ?
Q- But these heart beats led to a big society event . The wedding fm 1996 was one of the most broadcasted moments.
Nadia – It was because when we decided to marry , both me and Bart decided to do it here because I couldn't take this happy moment away from the Romanians, we had to celebrate together this event. That's why we wanted to make it here.
Topescu – Tell us how Bart asked u to marry him
Nadia – I don't know which moment u mean. I know only that…So…he asked me to marry in 1994. ( pause…she looks to Topescu to see if this is the moments he talks about )
Topescu – Yes.

Topescu – But how it was ? Cause I know it from Bart.
Nadia – He organized a dinner…we were in Amsterdam. This is what u talk about ?

Nadia – He organized a special dinner in Amsterdam , he had the plan done , everybody knew that he will ask me to marry him , except me.
Q – This is how it was suppose to be.
Nadia – The ring was ready…when I was in Japan…cause I have a very curious nature and I realize very quickly when something is going on.. if he asks something I know what he means…so he had to wait for me to go away and to be really far away to take care about the ring. He looked to all my rings, he knew one that fits that finger exactly , he ordered the ring in Dallas…And before going to the restaurant ( she means now the Amsterdam dinner) , he started to dress up 3 hours in advance. Me, I start to get everything ready just 1hour and half in advance..he was nervous, he was walking fm here to there..left –right..and then somebody knocked on the door , it was the champagne..and then he kneeled down and asked me to marry him. ( applauds + laughters)

The campagne for the 2000 Sydney OG gold medal retrieval initiated by many former or present champions started to become real.
Back then, she has been accused by doping because of a medicine which is not listed/forbidden anymore.
Since today , all those who believe in truth’s rehabilitation can try to do it signing the petition posted on www.andreearaducan.ro.
The case will be discussed today on TV Sport at 13:00 hrs.

On a charity auction, Nadia bought a painting with 7000 lei and Ion Tiriac one with 5500 lei.
The painting and graphic design exhibition with works made by unfortunate pupils organized Wednesday by Phoenicia Grand Hotel and Expert Traveler magazine ,directed by Diana Chivu , didn’t let Nadia Comaneci neutral.
The goddess from Montreal was one of the first who answered the calls and she managed to get the painting “From the fairy tales world” after she offered 7000 lei for it. “I am glad that the Romanian children proved that they have such talents. I shall have this painting in my room” revealed the last century’s best sport woman.
Being beside Nadia all the time, Ion Tiriac didn’t want to leave empty handed , the business man offered 5500 lei for the painting “In a tale’s world” . The paintings have been sold very quickly with prices between 1500 and 10000 lei.Among the guests : Paul prince of Romania , Bogdan Olteanu , Cosmin Gusa , Lavinia Sandru , Dumitru Costin ,Victor Becali,Maria Marinescu,Elan Schhwarzerberg (the husband of Mihaela Radulescu), Elisabeta Lipa, Mirabela Dauer, Cristian Boureanu,Cristian Tantareanu or Melek Amet.
Eventually the little artists went home being happycause all the ones who knocked down the paintings immediately paid for them.
Elan has been the most generous paying 5 paintings even if he actually bought only 3.

Nadia Comaneci has been welcomed in Barcelona like a real goddess.Being nominated by the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" as the most valuable sport woman of the last century, the former gymnast has been welcomed with all the honours. Nadia met sport celebrities at the dinner organized by the Spanish newspaper. After the interviews and photos taken on the podium where the award has been handed to her by an old friend , the former IOC president , Juan Anton Samaranch, Nadia chatted with the football player Puyol, the leader of FC Barcelona. The Champions League winner full-back , who has been awarded too , talked about football with the former “perfect gymnast”. He promised to offer her a special invitation to one of their “Primera”game in April. The goddess from Montreal revealed to the journalists that she would like to meet Ronaldinho, one of the most famous players on the planet , but this shock-meeting couldn’t take place because “Ronnie” couldn’t just leave the cantonment right before the game with Celta Vigo.
“I shall come back in April on Laureus Awards ocassion. For sure the Brazilian will be there because he has been nominated on a race , but also because he is the ambassador of this forum” said Nadia.

Even if the Gala that has been organized for the Spanish newspaper "El Mundo Deportivo" centenary celebration was on Friday , the presence of the former gymnast Nadia Comaneci at the event still echoes the Spanish paper.
"The Universal Romanian" – as "El Mundo Deportivo" calls her – accepted to have a free discussions with the journalists of the Spanish newspaper.
She talked about her career, her family, about the persons she admires, but she refused any comment about communism.
At 45 Nadia recently became mother and she confessed that she will lead Dylan Paul , her son, to the sport that made her and Bart Conner , the baby's father , famous.
"My son will go to gymnastics for sure , but we shall see up to what level. There are 4 million gymnasts in America , but only 6 of them reach the Olympic Team. Gymnastics is the base for any sport." , said the former athlete who has an advise for Dylan Paul :" To be passionate in what he's doing and to take step by step to reach his goal"
One of the persons admired by the Romanian is the former boxer World champion Muhammad Ali "He doesn't talk much about his illness, but he knows how to communicate. His look and his touches make you feel" said Nadia.
At some point , the Romanian started to check the journalists' informations:"Did you know that Ilie Nastase knows king Juan Carlos ? Oh, yes. And he taught him few Romanian words."
Nadia Comaneci didn't deny that gymnastics is a tough sport, but the restrictions are easier when you have a team around you.
"To be an Olympic champion a lot of work is required. You have to choose if you get involved or not. The team is a refuge. The tough work during the training sessions, the joy and the disappointments are the things that you share with the team." mentioned the goddess from Montreal.
She confessed that during the competitions she never looked her competitors straight in the eyes and she denied the fact that she was always so serious and never smiled to the audience.
"I smiled when I won, but the TV captures and the pictures do not show it.When I see images fm Montreal I know exactly what I was thinking at each and every moment." added the former gymnast.
The former gymnast ended expressing her regret of the doping ampleness.
"Before , when you had a triumph, everyone used to say what a great athlete you are. Now , when you win something important, everybody wonders what did you take."

Gala organizata pentru centenarul cotidianului spaniol „El Mundo Deportivo" s-a desfasurat vineri, dar prezenta fostei gimnaste Nadia Comaneci la acest eveniment continua sa aiba ecouri in publicatia iberica.
„Romanca universala" - asa cum o numeste „El Mundo Deportivo" - a acceptat o discutie libera cu jurnalistii de la ziarul spaniol. A vorbit despre cariera sa, despre familie, despre persoanele pe care le admira, dar a refuzat orice comentariu pe tema regimului comunist. Devenita de curand mamica, Nadia, in varsta de 45 de ani, a marturisit ca il va indruma pe Dylan Paul, fiul ei, spre sportul care i-a facut celebri si pe ea, si pe Bart Conner, tatal baietelului.
„Cu siguranta ca fiul meu va practica gimnastica, dar pana la ce nivel, vom vedea. In SUA sunt 4 milioane de persoane care fac gimnastica, dar numai sase ajung in echipa olimpica. Nadia Comaneci n-a negat faptul ca gimnastica este un sport dur, dar restrictiile sunt mai usor de indurat cand ai o echipa in jur. „Este nevoie de un anumit volum de munca pentru a fi campioana olimpica. Tu trebuie sa alegi daca te implici sau nu. Echipa este un refugiu. Munca dura de la antrenamente, bucuriile, dar si deceptiile le imparti cu echipa", a mentiontat „Zeita de la Montreal".
Ea a marturisit ca, la competitii, nu-si privea niciodata adversarele direct in ochi si a dezmintit faptul ca era mereu serioasa si nu zambea publicului. „Atunci cand castigam, zambeam, dar nici imaginile de televiziune, nici fotografiile nu arata acest lucru. Cand vad imagini de la Montreal, stiu exact ce gandeam in fiecare moment", a adaugat fosta gimnasta.
Fosta gimnasta a incheiat regretand amploarea luata de dopaj: „Inainte, cand obtineai un triumf, toata lumea iti spunea ce sportiv mare esti. Acum, cand castigi ceva important, toata lumea se intreaba ce ai luat".

Lucian Bote met Catalina Ponor and Loredana Boboc in Montreal at Cage aux Sports 48 hrs before his match with
the Russian Tatevosyan. The meeting has been planned by Cristi Ganesc, Interbox club representative and Sonia Bertrand the owner of Equilibrix Club. Lucian offered Catalina and Loredana a pair of boxing gloves and TShirts with his name. The girls started to play with the gloves pretending to fight with each other and with Lucian and everybody who was in the pub at that hour enjoyed the moment.. Meanwhile huge monitors showed NBC images fm Sydney and Athens with the 2 gymnasts and images fm different matches of Lucian Bote in Montreal.Even if they have been invited to dinner, both Catalina and Loredana refused to eat because Lucian has to lose 2 kgs and he coulnd't eat anything. "We know what this means. We can't accept to eat while you look at us "said Loredana. Cata and Lori will attend Lucian's match. Catalina told him "You are better than him.We will support you all the time." It will be a premiere for the two gymnasts , they never watched a box match live before. Catalina says that "I'm not watching box games, not even on TV. Is a taugh sport.Look, if you win, i'll show you how to keep your balance on the beam. " Loredana told him that "I hope I won't start to cry. I don't want to see you with blood on your face. You better finish everything quickly and win" The three of them arranged to go out together on Saturday to celebrate Lucian's victory.

To celebrate a century of existence ,last month “El Mundo Deportivo” ran a poll and worldwide readers nominated Nadia the best athlete of the century.
The awards ceremony will take place in Barcelona on Friday, 26th of Jan.
The former great champion is now in Norman ,Oklahoma and she will leave tomorrow to Spain. Few days ago, Conner family had guests fm Romania two children who came to the Gymnastics Academy together with their parents. The visit represented the BRD Societe Generale campagne result , the bank rewarding the clients who are using the credit cards with the champion’s image on them.
The winners spent a week in USA.
The reason for which the former glory will arrive Saturday in Romania is to honour the other contracts that she has. “I can’t stay more than 3 days this time. I have to go back to Gogosel.I can’t stay away of him for too long.” said the goddess fm Montreal.
This time she has to attend few events organized by the new partner NIRO Group one of them being a charity action for under-privileged children fm Bucharest.
Also, Nadia will check the construction progress of the hospital that will be named after her , this project being done with funds fm advertising campaign and fm RAFO Onesti. The former great glory wishes from now on to cross the ocean together with her son,Dylan Paul , who is now 7 months old.
“There’s no any problem anymore in USA. He has been with 23 planes by now and he’s doing great” said Nadia who added that Dylan loves the time that he spends in the gym.

“Life wanted that my parents to get separated. As any child, I would had like to have them together. But I am glad that today , even after so many years , they keep good relations. That’s all that matters.”
At the 1st floor Comaneci flat’s door is already opened. In the doorsteps a lady with grizzled hair hugs the great star and Stefania Comaneci. She is Lenuta , the present wife of Gheorghe Comaneci. “Hmm! Smells so good here. What did u cook?” asks Nadia with curiosity.
At the end of the visit Mrs. Lenuta prepapred many small packages “You have here meat that I’ve prepared with my own hand. Nadia , I added here some sausages and some quinces. The other package is for Adrian (note : Nadia’s brother) and the small ones for Alexandru and Andrei “(note : Adrian’s kids) , explains Lenuta
When she glances up to Nadia her eyes are wet like two amber drops. Stefania Comaneci has a package ready to be offered,too. The two of them hug like two sisters. Life brought them close to each other only by conjucture.Nadia looks at them. She smiles and hugs them one by one : “What else can u say ? This is a part of my family. Mom, dad and Mrs. Lenuta.”

Nadia’s father , the king of the pickles
The crowd gathered on RAFO refinery’s platform applauded for minutes the best gymnasts of all times, Nadia Comaneci during her visit in Onesti.
Together with her mom , Stefania , Nadia stepped in a metal-grey Mercedes, but she didn’t forget to say good bye fm her so many fans. “I wish you happy and wealthy holidays” said Nadia to RAFO workers while the limo was slowly passing by. After the car’s side window has been closed nobody said a word for few seconds. The emotions overwhelmed the one who is considered a real world legend. “I can’t believe how many people came” said Nadia to her mom.
From RAFO to the city’s center you need only few minutes.
“Well , now I want to make a surprise visit to my father in the market at his pickles stand” she said to the driver.
“Dad sells pickles cause it is his pleasure”
After passing the center’s crossroad, the imposing Mercedes went on narrow streets. On the way to the market, Nadia explained :”Dad started to work since he was 11. He is 72 now and he’s as active as the quicksilver.He can’t stay home just like that. I’ve read in some newspapers that he goes to sell pickles in the market ‘cause I refuse to help him financially. Is such a big stupidity. He permanently has my help , but no matter how much I’d give him , I can’t keep him tied home. He told me that he’d go crazy if he would have nothing to do.” Stefania Comaneci who divorced Nadia’s father years ago confirms her daughter’s words “He was like that since I’ve known him. He liked to work all the time.”

“Let’s see where is his stand.Mom,do u have any idea where it might be?” asks Nadia while she enters the the market labyrinth. Simple people coming from villages to sell their products are shocked seeing the great champion.The shoppers stop and comment : “Is her ! She looks smashing!” Some gutsy sellers salute her with respect :”Welcome, Mrs.Nadia. Is a miracle that u are here.”
“Thank you very much. But have u seen President Comaneci around here ?"
One of the stand sellers points to her father’s stand.
“Oho , how are u , Mr.Comaneci? How many pickles did u sell today? May we taste yr merchandise?” says Nadia laughing when she sees her father who takes her in his arms.
For the first time in many years Nadia and her parents pose in public.
Gheorghe Comaneci is very energic. Nobody can tell his real age.
“Look , my daughter asked me not to come here , but I can’t stay home. I have here 4,000 Kg pickles. People come and buy from me cause I use a special formula. And I sell cheap : 3 francs (note : 3 RON) per kilo."

After he offers us a pickle directly from the barrel to pove the quality of his merchandise, Gheorghe Comaneci asks Nadia to go for a minute to another stand :”He is our gardener. He wants so bad to meet you.”
“OK, but we’ll stay just for a minute cause we have to go home after that.” she explains.
The gardener’s big choppy hands are coming together like in a prayer when he sees Nadia :”My God, Gheorghe, what a daughter u have! Little Nadia , let me kiss your hands” are the words of this simple man. In that moment Montreal Goddess’ humbleness amazes everyone. She takes him in her arms and kisses him on both cheeks “Take care of dad”
On the way home , Nadia tells us who gave the nickname to her father : “Bart was the first one who called him "Mr.President". When he came in Onesti for the first time , he found out that dad sells pickles in the market and called him "The President of the Marketing" . I recall it was a day when both Bart and I went in the market. It was really nice.”

The couple Daniela Maranduca and Remus Nicolae , both former gymnasts , now coaches at CS Farul Constanta, will open their own gymnastics club together with another associate Mrs. Antonela Francu , on 10th of February 2007. Both children and adults will have access. "We'll have artistic , rithmic and aerobic gymnasytics depts. , but also a team for children with special needs. I heard many time partents complaining that they can't find a place for their children to exercise." They will not neglect the performance either.

Another former great gymnast, Camelia Voinea , recently announced that she wil lopen her own gymnastics school in 2007 in Constanta. She said that in a short time the former gymnastics glories will follow her example and the number of the private schools in Romania will increase. She intends to co-opt in her staff the former National Team's members , Daniela Sofronie and Catalina Ponor.
Track record : Dana Maranduca - 5 times European champion , 3 times World champion with the group , silver and gold medalist Europeans & Worlds for trio group. In 1994 she was in the team who won the gold at the Worlds in Dortmund together with Claudia Presecan,Simona Amanar,Ionela Loaies,Gina Gogean,Nadia Hatagan and Lavinia Milosovici. Even if the Gala that has been organized for the Spanish newspaper "El Mundo Deportivo" centenary celebration was on Friday , the presence of the former gymnast Nadia Comaneci at the event still echoes the Spanish paper.
"The Universal Romanian" – as "El Mundo Deportivo" calls her – accepted to have a free discussions with the journalists of the Spanish newspaper.
She talked about her career, her family, about the persons she admires, but she refused any comment about communism.
At 45 Nadia recently became mother and she confessed that she will lead Dylan Paul , her son, to the sport that made her and Bart Conner , the baby's father , famous.
"My son will go to gymnastics for sure , but we shall see up to what level. There are 4 million gymnasts in America , but only 6 of them reach the Olympic Team. Gymnastics is the base for any sport." , said the former athlete who has an advise for Dylan Paul :" To be passionate in what he's doing and to take step by step to reach his goal"
One of the persons admired by the Romanian is the former boxer World champion Muhammad Ali "He doesn't talk much about his illness, but he knows how to communicate. His look and his touches make you feel" said Nadia.
At some point , the Romanian started to check the journalists' informations:"Did you know that Ilie Nastase knows king Juan Carlos ? Oh, yes. And he taught him few Romanian words."
Nadia Comaneci didn't deny that gymnastics is a tough sport, but the restrictions are easier when you have a team around you.
"To be an Olympic champion a lot of work is required. You have to choose if you get involved or not. The team is a refuge. The tough work during the training sessions, the joy and the disappointments are the things that you share with the team." mentioned the goddess from Montreal.
She confessed that during the competitions she never looked her competitors straight in the eyes and she denied the fact that she was always so serious and never smiled to the audience.
"I smiled when I won, but the TV captures and the pictures do not show it.When I see images fm Montreal I know exactly what I was thinking at each and every moment." added the former gymnast.
The former gymnast ended expressing her regret of the doping ampleness.
"Before , when you had a triumph, everyone used to say what a great athlete you are. Now , when you win something important, everybody wonders what did you take."

Gala organizata pentru centenarul cotidianului spaniol „El Mundo Deportivo" s-a desfasurat vineri, dar prezenta fostei gimnaste Nadia Comaneci la acest eveniment continua sa aiba ecouri in publicatia iberica.
„Romanca universala" - asa cum o numeste „El Mundo Deportivo" - a acceptat o discutie libera cu jurnalistii de la ziarul spaniol. A vorbit despre cariera sa, despre familie, despre persoanele pe care le admira, dar a refuzat orice comentariu pe tema regimului comunist. Devenita de curand mamica, Nadia, in varsta de 45 de ani, a marturisit ca il va indruma pe Dylan Paul, fiul ei, spre sportul care i-a facut celebri si pe ea, si pe Bart Conner, tatal baietelului.
„Cu siguranta ca fiul meu va practica gimnastica, dar pana la ce nivel, vom vedea. In SUA sunt 4 milioane de persoane care fac gimnastica, dar numai sase ajung in echipa olimpica. La un moment dat, romanca a inceput sa verifice cunostintele jurnalistilor de la „El Mundo Deportivo": „Stiti ca Ilie Nastase (n.r. - fostul tenismen, in prezent presedintele federatiei de specialitate din Romania) se cunoaste cu regele Juan Carlos? Ei bine, da. Si l-a invatat pe suveran si cateva cuvinte in romana".
Nadia Comaneci n-a negat faptul ca gimnastica este un sport dur, dar restrictiile sunt mai usor de indurat cand ai o echipa in jur. „Este nevoie de un anumit volum de munca pentru a fi campioana olimpica. Tu trebuie sa alegi daca te implici sau nu. Echipa este un refugiu. Munca dura de la antrenamente, bucuriile, dar si deceptiile le imparti cu echipa", a mentiontat „Zeita de la Montreal".
Ea a marturisit ca, la competitii, nu-si privea niciodata adversarele direct in ochi si a dezmintit faptul ca era mereu serioasa si nu zambea publicului. „Atunci cand castigam, zambeam, dar nici imaginile de televiziune, nici fotografiile nu arata acest lucru. Cand vad imagini de la Montreal, stiu exact ce gandeam in fiecare moment", a adaugat fosta gimnasta.
Fosta gimnasta a incheiat regretand amploarea luata de dopaj: „Inainte, cand obtineai un triumf, toata lumea iti spunea ce sportiv mare esti. Acum, cand castigi ceva important, toata lumea se intreaba ce ai luat".

Lucian Bote met Catalina Ponor and Loredana Boboc in Montreal at Cage aux Sports 48 hrs before his match with
the Russian Tatevosyan. The meeting has been planned by Cristi Ganesc, Interbox club representative and Sonia Bertrand the owner of Equilibrix Club. Lucian offered Catalina and Loredana a pair of boxing gloves and TShirts with his name. The girls started to play with the gloves pretending to fight with each other and with Lucian and everybody who was in the pub at that hour enjoyed the moment.. Meanwhile huge monitors showed NBC images fm Sydney and Athens with the 2 gymnasts and images fm different matches of Lucian Bote in Montreal.Even if they have been invited to dinner, both Catalina and Loredana refused to eat because Lucian has to lose 2 kgs and he coulnd't eat anything. "We know what this means. We can't accept to eat while you look at us "said Loredana. Cata and Lori will attend Lucian's match. Catalina told him "You are better than him.We will support you all the time." It will be a premiere for the two gymnasts , they never watched a box match live before. Catalina says that "I'm not watching box games, not even on TV. Is a taugh sport.Look, if you win, i'll show you how to keep your balance on the beam. " Loredana told him that "I hope I won't start to cry. I don't want to see you with blood on your face. You better finish everything quickly and win" The three of them arranged to go out together on Saturday to celebrate Lucian's victory.

Although retired fm the competition activity since 5 yrs ago, Andreea Raducan still has fans all over the world.
After the interview fm “Averea” in which she explains with details how Sidney OG gold medal has been stolen fm her, she received dozens of emails from people who wanted to let her know that they are beside her in the trial of obtaining the medal back.
“I’ve been surprised that people didn’t forget me after such a long time. I knew that I have some fan clubs around the world, the Malaysian one being the most active. In the days after that interview they’ve sent me dozens of emails , my fans telling me not to give up” said yesterday Andreea Raducan who received messages from England, USA, Canada and many Asian countries.
The leader of the club, the Malaysian Mai Loon Goh , is one of the most appreciated movie directors in Asia. 40 yrs old woman, she has elaborated knowledge about the Romanian Gymnastics. Mai Loon met most of our gymnasts.

To celebrate a century of existence ,last month “El Mundo Deportivo” ran a poll and worldwide readers nominated Nadia the best athlete of the century.
The awards ceremony will take place in Barcelona on Friday, 26th of Jan.
The former great champion is now in Norman ,Oklahoma and she will leave tomorrow to Spain. Few days ago, Conner family had guests fm Romania two children who came to the Gymnastics Academy together with their parents. The visit represented the BRD Societe Generale campagne result , the bank rewarding the clients who are using the credit cards with the champion’s image on them.
The winners spent a week in USA.
The reason for which the former glory will arrive Saturday in Romania is to honour the other contracts that she has. “I can’t stay more than 3 days this time. I have to go back to Gogosel.I can’t stay away of him for too long.” said the goddess fm Montreal.
This time she has to attend few events organized by the new partner NIRO Group one of them being a charity action for under-privileged children fm Bucharest.
Also, Nadia will check the construction progress of the hospital that will be named after her , this project being done with funds fm advertising campaign and fm RAFO Onesti. The former great glory wishes from now on to cross the ocean together with her son,Dylan Paul , who is now 7 months old.
“There’s no any problem anymore in USA. He has been with 23 planes by now and he’s doing great” said Nadia who added that Dylan loves the time that he spends in the gym.
Nadia Comaneci “I can’t wait to come in Romania and to see my dear ones. Unfortunately , I have many things to solve and I won’t stay more than 3 days. I am honoured to have El Mundo Deportivo award.”
In El Mundo Deportivo top, Nadia outclassed Martina Navratilova and Steffi Graff. 0n the next places : Jeanni Longo (cyclism) and Anne-Marie Proell (ski).
“The unforgettable woman who scored 10 and the exercise of perfection” is called the article dedicated by El Mundo Deportivi to Nadia Comaneci about whom they write that she reinvented the gymnastics. In the same top the century’s male athlete is Michael Jordan followed by Mark Spitz and Diego Maradona.

Gheorghe Comaneci gets along very well with the champion’s mom, Stefania , even if now he is married with another woman , Lenuta
Nadia’ family , what a soap opera !
Nadia Comaneci broke the silence talking openly abt her family.Being in Onesti, the sport legend admitted even infront of her parents that she would had like for them not to divorce. Even so , she treats her father’s present wife , Lenuta , as a family member. Stefania and Gheorghe Comaneci kept a very good relationship.

Not long before getting home, Nadia’s mom squared up to a tabu subject for media “You will see my relation with my ex-husband’s wife. We 're best friends. Is a story that overtops a soap opera.” says with a slight humor Stefania Comaneci.
“Life wanted that my parents to get separated. As any child, I would had like to have them together. But I am glad that today , even after so many years , they keep good relations. That’s all that matters.”
At the 1st floor Comaneci flat’s door is already opened. In the doorsteps a lady with grizzled hair hugs the great star and Stefania Comaneci. She is Lenuta , the present wife of Gheorghe Comaneci. “Hmm! Smells so good here. What did u cook?” asks Nadia with curiosity.
At the end of the visit Mrs. Lenuta prepapred many small packages “You have here meat that I’ve prepared with my own hand. Nadia , I added here some sausages and some quinces. The other package is for Adrian (note : Nadia’s brother) and the small ones for Alexandru and Andrei “(note : Adrian’s kids) , explains Lenuta
When she glances up to Nadia her eyes are wet like two amber drops. Stefania Comaneci has a package ready to be offered,too. The two of them hug like two sisters. Life brought them close to each other only by conjucture.Nadia looks at them. She smiles and hugs them one by one : “What else can u say ? This is a part of my family. Mom, dad and Mrs. Lenuta.”

Nadia’s father , the king of the pickles
The crowd gathered on RAFO refinery’s platform applauded for minutes the best gymnasts of all times, Nadia Comaneci during her visit in Onesti.
Together with her mom , Stefania , Nadia stepped in a metal-grey Mercedes, but she didn’t forget to say good bye fm her so many fans. “I wish you happy and wealthy holidays” said Nadia to RAFO workers while the limo was slowly passing by. After the car’s side window has been closed nobody said a word for few seconds. The emotions overwhelmed the one who is considered a real world legend. “I can’t believe how many people came” said Nadia to her mom.
From RAFO to the city’s center you need only few minutes.
“Well , now I want to make a surprise visit to my father in the market at his pickles stand” she said to the driver.
“Dad sells pickles cause it is his pleasure”
After passing the center’s crossroad, the imposing Mercedes went on narrow streets. On the way to the market, Nadia explained :”Dad started to work since he was 11. He is 72 now and he’s as active as the quicksilver.He can’t stay home just like that. I’ve read in some newspapers that he goes to sell pickles in the market ‘cause I refuse to help him financially. Is such a big stupidity. He permanently has my help , but no matter how much I’d give him , I can’t keep him tied home. He told me that he’d go crazy if he would have nothing to do.” Stefania Comaneci who divorced Nadia’s father years ago confirms her daughter’s words “He was like that since I’ve known him. He liked to work all the time.”

“Let’s see where is his stand.Mom,do u have any idea where it might be?” asks Nadia while she enters the the market labyrinth. Simple people coming from villages to sell their products are shocked seeing the great champion.The shoppers stop and comment : “Is her ! She looks smashing!” Some gutsy sellers salute her with respect :”Welcome, Mrs.Nadia. Is a miracle that u are here.”
“Thank you very much. But have u seen President Comaneci around here ?"
One of the stand sellers points to her father’s stand.
“Oho , how are u , Mr.Comaneci? How many pickles did u sell today? May we taste yr merchandise?” says Nadia laughing when she sees her father who takes her in his arms.
For the first time in many years Nadia and her parents pose in public.
Gheorghe Comaneci is very energic. Nobody can tell his real age.
“Look , my daughter asked me not to come here , but I can’t stay home. I have here 4,000 Kg pickles. People come and buy from me cause I use a special formula. And I sell cheap : 3 francs (note : 3 RON) per kilo."
“Gheorghe , nickname ;Mr.President
“OK, but we’ll stay just for a minute cause we have to go home after that.” she explains.
The gardener’s big choppy hands are coming together like in a prayer when he sees Nadia :”My God, Gheorghe, what a daughter u have! Little Nadia , let me kiss your hands” are the words of this simple man. In that moment Montreal Goddess’ humbleness amazes everyone. She takes him in her arms and kisses him on both cheeks “Take care of dad”
On the way home , Nadia tells us who gave the nickname to her father : “Bart was the first one who called him "Mr.President"

After the birth of her baby at the end of June, Nadia will get ready for another big event in her life. She and her husband, Bart Conner got the proposal of being the God-parents on Dominique Moceanu’s wedding, the American former gymnast originary from Romania
